A Bulgarian man has been detained in Germany over the killing of journalist Viktoria Marinova, Bulgarian Interior Minister Mladen Marinov said Wednesday.Authorities cannot yet say whether or not Marinova's murder in the northern Bulgarian city of Ruse was linked to her work as a broadcast journalist, according to Bulgarian Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov.The man has been charged in his absence with rape and murder, Tsatsarov said.A European arrest warrant was issued for the Bulgarian man after his DNA matched evidence collected from the crime scene, Marinov told a news conference.A spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry told CNN the 21-year-old suspect had been arrested close to the northern German city of Hamburg.Bulgarian authorities are requesting his extradition, she said. A brawl broke out during a sentencing Wednesday afternoon of a former daycare owner accused of reckless homicide in the death of a 7-week-old baby in her care.37-year-old Claudette Mitchell was being sentenced for charges related to the death of a 2-month-old child that died while in Mitchell's care last August at "WHO'S LUVIN YOU" daycare. Mitchell ran the daycare out of her home on Milwaukee's northside. A criminal complaint says Mitchell told police she put the baby down for a nap and when she checked on her about an hour later she was unresponsive and had scratches and blood on her face. Court documents show the baby suffered multiple fractures to her skull and bruising all over her body. Forensic investigators believe the baby died of blunt force trauma to the head.  Mitchell received a sentence of 42 months, and upon release, 48 months of supervision. Following the sentencing, an altercation broke out between 50 members of Mitchell's and the victim's families and friends according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.Additional deputies and district attorney investigators were called to the room to restore order. Authorities say additional security had been in place prior to the altercation but Mitchell's loved ones did not comply with deputies’ orders to remain in the courtroom while the victim’s family was being escorted out. 1407

A Delavan, Wisconsin woman thought she was gaining weight, but it turned out to be something much more serious. Tina Ferguson had 30 pounds of tumors in her stomach from a rare type of cancer.“I just thought it was middle age and weight gain," said Ferguson. "You have no idea you have something inside you that is killing you."A trip to the doctor gave her a diagnosis of ovarian cancer that was possibly benign. But when the doctor's opened her up to remove it they found something unexpected."I will never forget them coming in the room and saying, 'This is stage 4. You have appendix cancer,'" Ferguson said.On top that, it had ruptured attaching tumors to other organs and leaving a jelly-like substance called mucin in the lining of her abdomen. There was 30 pounds of it inside of Ferguson pushing on her organs."This is the mucin and tumor that's present inside of the abdomen before Tina had her operation," said Dr. Harvershp Mogal, a cancer surgeon at the Medical College of Wisconsin.It took doctors 12 hours to remove all the tumors and mucin. The rare cancer used to come with a very low survival rate. Ferguson was first told she only had months to live.However, Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin used a new kind of chemotherapy called Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) to wash the tumors out."I basically give the patient a heated chemotherapy wash for about 90 minutes. The chemotherapy is heated to 108 Fahrenheit and what the chemotherapy does it takes care of any minute cancer cells that we can't see," said Mogal.Mogal said Ferguson is now cancer-free, just six months later."It's changed my entire outlook on life. You know almost dying, you can't take anything for granted. Every day is a gift," said Ferguson. 1798

A fist fight during rush hour at a busy Omaha intersection was caught on cell phone video by another driver. The road rage footage shows two drivers blocking traffic to fight. The incident happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday, but it's unclear what events led up to the fight. The video shows the two men outside of their cars and exchanging blows before the men went into their separate vehicles and drove away.   441
