BEIJING, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President Barack Obama will attend the APEC economic leaders' meeting in China in November, said Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on Monday, adding that the two countries have already started the preparatory work.
A successful meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in Shanghai in May helped the two countries make breakthroughs on the China-Russia East Route natural gas pipeline and other large-scale joint projects of strategic significance, bringing their comprehensive strategic partnership to a new era of development.
He called on business circles and think tanks of the two countries to have closer communication to promote a stable and sound development of the China-U.S. cooperation.
China has become the top trading partner and natural gas export market for Turkmenistan for the last three consecutive years. Two-way trade topped 10 billion U.S. dollars last year. The China-Turkmenistan gas pipeline has transmitted more than 90 billion cubic meters of natural gas over the past few years.
