A man wearing what police called a "Halloween costume" with live ammo draped across his chest was detained on the UCF campus on Tuesday. UCF Police responded to a classroom for reports of a suspicious person. When they arrived, they found the man wearing a Halloween costume that included real live ammunition. The man was detained, interviewed and let go after police determined he was just wearing a costume and there was no criminal intent behind his costume.Police say he told them he was dressed as "the Terminator" and he was very forthcoming with the situation, answering all questions asked. During a press conference on Tuesday, police said they only received one call from a third-party about the man wearing the live rounds and that was very alarming to them. They want everyone to say something when they see something questionable. "We were surprised by only one call," said officials. "It may be a costume, it may be more than a costume, but it's our job as a police department to keep this campus safe." 1036

A Pennsylvania woman is mourning the loss of her 12-year-old after claiming that the dog was mauled last week by another dog during a grooming appointment at a PetSmart, WNEP-TV reported. Betty Miller of Scranton told WNEP that after dropping off her dog named Bichon Brewster at PetSmart's grooming salon, she got a call from a veterinarian, who delivered the awful news. Brewster was killed after getting attacked by another dog.After the mauling, Brewster was taken to the Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center, but was dead on arrival. The veterinarians told WNEP that it attempted resuscitation, but failed. Now, Miller is wanting answers as to why this happened. "We called corporate," Miller told WNEP. "They did not reach out to us, and I was very angry about that. Why would you want to bring a pit bull past a small dog who's really just bait? A shooter opened fire at a church in the Northern Caucasus region of southern Russia on Sunday, killing five people and wounding two others, authorities said, according to state media.The incident took place at a church in Kizlyar in the restive Russian republic of Dagestan.Police responded, traded fire with the shooter and killed him, the authorities said. Two officers were injured in the gunfight, they said.The shooting occurred during Maslenitsa, a festival celebrated in Russia that is full of dancing, lots of pancakes and carnival-like festivities.Russian state news agency Tass spoke to a law enforcement source who said that "the unknown person opened fire on people celebrating Maslenitsa."Kizlyar Mayor Alexander Shuvalov was quoted by Tass as saying that the attacker opened fire on "people after leaving the service."It was not immediately known who was behind the attack.Dagestan and its neighbor Chechnya have been wracked by separatist and Islamic violence in recent years. 1010

A Milwaukee County bus crashed near a busy college campus on Tuesday.The bus crashed near Johnston Hall on Marquette's campus in downtown Milwaukee.The Milwaukee Fire Department says at around 5:15 p.m. a Route 12 bus lost control while turning left. The bus ended up on the sidewalk near Gesu Church. Marquette Police said five people sustained non-life-threatening injuries. MU police also said the bus hit Johnston Hall and caused damage to the front of the building. The building was evacuated as a precautionary measure.  564

A top ranking member of the Sheriff’s Department is speaking about changes he feels are needed, following the investigation into Assistant Sheriff Rich Miller.On Tuesday, Team 10 confirmed Miller was being accused of inappropriate conduct. Miller is currently using his accumulated time off until his scheduled retirement on March 2nd.Commander Dave Myers, who is running for Sheriff, emphasized women should feel safe to come forward. He used the example of Deputy Richard Fischer, accused by more than a dozen women of sexual misconduct while on duty.“It took after a woman complained… another 13 women to come forward before anything was really done. If we can’t police ourselves within the department, how’s the public going to trust us to do that outside the department?” Myers said.Myers has been with the department for 32 years.“One of my goals is to create that transparency,” Myers said.Sheriff Gore told Team 10 in regards to Miller, “allegations are taken very seriously and given the highest priority.” 1023
