BEIJING, Nov.24 (Xinhua) -- Senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official Li Yuanchao met in Beijing Wednesday with a delegation consisting of members on the third course of the Workshop of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa. HAIKOU, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- China will provide more support for the country's religious communities in their international exchanges and communications, said Wang Zuoan, director of the State Administration for Religious Affairs.Wang made the remarks at the 2011 national conference on religious work held in South China' s Hainan Province on Monday.The administration will actively support religious circles in China to promote the concept of religious harmony during the first World Interfaith Harmony Week, which has been recognized by the United Nations and will be held in the first week of February, Wang said.Additionally, Wang said that the country is working to streamline the social security system to further benefit religious personnel.

BEIJING, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- Vice Premier Li Keqiang's three-nation visit to Europe has expressed China's confidence, boosted mutual trust, expanded cooperation and deepened mutual understanding, Vice Foreign Minister Fu Ying said Thursday.Li returned to Beijing on Thursday afternoon after making visits to Spain, Germany and Britain at the invitations of their governments.Fu said that the vice premier's visits took place as the deep-seated impact of the international financial crisis remains unabated, the global economic recovery still faces uncertainties, and as Europe is in a tough fight against sovereignty debt crises.The visits were a great success and have been a solid start for the development of China's relations with Europe in 2011, Fu said.ENHANCED MUTUAL UNDERSTANDINGAccording to the vice foreign minister, Li said during his visit that China is a strategic partner of the three nations, and shares with them extensive common interests. GABORONE, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping said here on Monday that China is satisfied with its relations with Botswana.In a meeting with Botswana's President Ian Khama, Xi said the bilateral ties have developed steadily and fruitfully and that both sides have kept close coordination in the international arena.Xi, who arrived in Gaborone on Saturday for an official visit, noted that bilateral economic cooperation has maintained a good momentum in recent years, and Botswana has become one of China's vital partners in Africa."The Chinese side is satisfied with the development of bilateral ties," Xi was quoted as saying by a press release issued by the Chinese delegation.He said China values its ties with Botswana, noting that China will continue to enhance political trust, expand economic cooperation and strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchange with Botswana."I believe the China-Botswana friendly cooperation is sure to have a promising future," he said.The Chinese vice president also praised Botswana for its active role in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, calling for joint efforts to push forward the smooth development of the forum.Botswana is the final leg of Xi's four-nation trip to Asia and Africa. Xi and Chinese delegation left Gaborone right after the meeting.
