CLEWISTON, Fla. -- An overturned sugarcane truck has caused the closure of southbound lanes of U.S. 27 near Clewiston Wednesday.Florida Highway Patrol reports that the truck overturned Wednesday morning at the intersection of U.S. 27 and Evercane Road, just east of Clewiston.All southbound lanes were closed while crews clean up the approximately 25 tons of sugarcane that spilled onto the roadway.The roadway has since reopened.No injuries are reported. 468

CLEVELAND — A Cleveland website is facing backlash after attempting to be humorous about the foreclosure crisis and sex trafficking. Coolcleveland.com wrote an article about an upcoming gingerbread house making event at restaurant TownHall. In the now deleted post, the site said "the foreclosure crisis left a lot of empty gingerbread houses around Cleveland. Many end up becoming dens for cracker addicts." It also mentioned "gingerbread sex slaves."A spokesperson for TownHall said they were upset by the post. "We are appalled by the article written by Cool Cleveland. (KGTV) San Diego Police Department is investigating a car meet-up that turned into brief reckless driving exhibition in Clairemont.Viewer video shows several cars doing donuts and burnouts for hundreds of spectators at in major shopping center off Balboa Ave from Friday night.The drivers almost hit people trying to film them and almost crash into fences on the property.Those who attended say the meet-up was organized through private social media accounts.“It’s scary because it starts right next to you and it happens with like a flick of a switch,” said one gearhead who wants to remain anonymous to protect his identity.An SDPD officer is shown responding to the incident in the video and appears to be harassed by the crowd.“People were throwing trash at him and there was a lot of middle fingers that were thrown up,” said another car enthusiast who was the event, “I thought the cop was going to get attacked.”The anonymous gearheads say what happened Friday night is not indicative of car culture and they were upset with how people treated the officer.“I’ve been to multiple meets where… we get to look at some nice cars but then there’s meet’s like this that get out a hand and then cause a horrible image for us,” said the anonymous attendee.SDPD has not clarified if any arrests were made during the incident. 1375

CONNEAUT, Ohio — Conneaut Councilman Phillip Garcia, 63, was arrested and taken to the Ashtabula County Jail in Ohio on Tuesday, according to employees at the sheriff's department.Court documents revealed that Garcia is being held on 26 felony charges.The 26-count indictment includes five counts of rape, four counts of corruption of a minor and two counts of sexual conduct with a minor. He was also indicted on 15 felony counts of compelling prostitution.Garcia, 63, the councilman for Ward 2 in Conneaut, serves as a member on the Parks and Recreation committee, Economic Development Committee and Public Service Department/Cemeteries committee. Ashtabula County Sheriff Bill Johnson said they've been investigating Garcia for two to three months. They launched the investigation into Garcia, who owns Phil's Catering after an employee came forward in June.The charges relate to five juveniles between the age of 13 and 17, according to the release.  The alleged sexual assaults took place between 1997 and 2005.Four of the alleged victims were employees of Garcia's catering business."We do have concerns that there could be additional victims who have not yet been identified, and we urge anyone with information pertinent to the investigation to come forward," said Attorney General DeWine.  1356

CLEVELAND, Ohio — An 11-year-old boy stole his parents' SUV and led police on a high-speed before crashing it late Sunday night, Brooklyn, Ohio police confirmed Monday.WEWS television station has confirmed, through a police report, that this is the same boy who at 10 years old led Ohio State Highway Patrol on a 100 mph chase last fall.It started at 10:59 p.m. when Brooklyn police saw a black Dodge Durango pull into the driveway of a former city fire station. The 11-year-old fled from police and traveled out of the fire station and onto Memphis Avenue.Police pursued the vehicle heading eastbound on Memphis Avenue to Pearl Road.The 11-year-old continued to drive recklessly, reaching speeds higher than 70 mph. When Parma Heights police received a call from the boy's father at 11:06 p.m., saying his son was driving the Dodge Durango, officers from the Brooklyn Police Department canceled the pursuit.At 11:30 p.m., police spoke to the boy's father who received a call telling him that his son crashed into a parked truck in the area of 958 West Schaff in Cleveland.The boy was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center with minor injuries. He told officers that he was not being pursued when he crashed into the SUV.Felony charges will be filed on the driver in juvenile court, police said. 1325
