(KGTV) — White House chief of staff John Kelly will leave his position within the Trump Administration by the end of the year, President Donald Trump told reporters on Saturday afternoon.CNN on Friday reported that Kelly was expected to announce his departure in the coming days."John Kelly will be leaving ... I don't know if I can say retiring, but he's a great guy," Trump told a pool of reporters outside the White House before departing to Pennsylvania for the Army-Navy football game. "John Kelly will be leaving at the end of the year. We will be announcing who will be taking John's place, it might be on an interim basis."Kelly has been part of the president's administration for 17 months, serving as Secretary of Homeland Security before moving into the role of Chief of Staff following the departure of Reince Priebus in July 2017.While no one has been officially announced to succeed Kelly, sources tell ABC News that Nick Ayers, who currently serves as Vice President Mike Pence’s chief of staff, is the leading candidate to take over.Kelly's departure has been long-rumored in Washington, even while he had recently accepted Trump's invitation to stay on in the position through his 2020 re-election campaign, ABC News reports. 1250

There is no word on what led to Holder’s arrest.RELATED: Rapper Nipsey Hussle dead after a shooting near Los Angeles clothing store Holder and Hussle were in an argument outside The Marathon Clothing when Holder left and returned with a gun, Los Angeles Police Chief Michel Moore said. Holder was seen leaving the area in a Chevy Cruze driven by a woman who is also wanted by police, Moore said. RELATED: Rapper Nipsey Hussle mourned by Rihanna, LeBron JamesMoore said the shooting appeared to be the result of a personal dispute, not gang rivalry. ``We believe this to be a dispute between Mr. Hussle and Mr. Holder,'' Moore said. ``I'm not going to go into the conversations, but it appears to be a personal matter between the two of them.'' Nipsey Hussle was a former South Los Angeles gang member who became a musician and made efforts to improve his community, including buying shoes for children and helping the homeless. He had been scheduled Monday to meet with Moore and Los Angeles Police Commission President Steve Soboroff to discuss gang violence prevention. RELATED: Injuries reported as crowd stampedes during Nipsey Hussle memorialAt a candlelight vigil in Hussle’s honor outside his store Monday night, 19 people were injured in a stampede. One of the victims was struck by a car and the other may have been stabbed, according to police. A memorial for Hussle was moved from the store to a different location Tuesday morning.
