SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The co-founder and CEO of the Super Dentists said that during the current COVID-19 pandemic, patients have been hesitant to get dental work done."The American Dental Association did a survey, and about 75 to 80 percent of the patients across the country feel comfortable about going back to the dentist. About 15 percent want a vaccine before they go back,” said Dr. Kami Hoss.And while he understands the precautions people are making, Hoss said a recent study indicates dentist offices have shown to be safe."There have been zero cases of COVID related to any dentist offices,” Hoss said.And to further help ease the minds of dental patients, Hoss has just written a book titled, "If Your Mouth Could Talk.""I wanted to know what keeps parents up at night and what their worries are. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - The man responsible for a fatal drunk driving crash nearly two years ago was sentenced to more than three decades in prison Friday. San Diego Superior Court Judge Joan Weber handed Jeffrey Levi a sentence of 30 years to life in prison, plus an additional four years for the crash that killed 19-year-old Isaac Felix and 33-year-old Jesus Dominguez. “I do want to remind you Mr. Levi, because I know that you’re going to be living with that for the rest of your life, that you killed these two young people and burned them to death, you permanently maimed another young woman, and injured an officer,” said Weber. “By my count, you made four fatal decisions on that night."In January 2018, Levi got behind the wheel of his Mustang while drunk and drove more than 100 miles per hour on Interstate 15. The Corolla was disabled in the freeway lanes, then hit by an SUV driven by an off-duty San Diego Police sergeant. The sedan burst into flames, killing Felix and Jesus Dominguez. Giovanna was severely injured but rescued by Good Samaritans. Sgt. Raymond Rowe was also injured. Levi fled the scene, completely uninjured. He was later found and arrested. “I made very serious mistakes with detrimental consequences; I relapsed,” said Levi after explaining his attempt at rehab for his alcoholism. “I think of Jesus, Isaac, Giovanna and their friends and families every day. I wish that I could do or say something to change what happened, but I can’t and I have to live with that forever.” In August, a jury found Levi guilty of second-degree murder, hit and run, drunk driving, and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The California Independent System Operator again Sunday reminded consumers throughout the state conserve energy, warning of more possible rotating outages.SDG&E said early in the day Sunday that customers should be prepared for possible outages to be called from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.The news comes after a flex alert was issued statewide from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Monday, September 7.“Energy conservation is essential in helping reduce the possibility of widespread rotating outages and the number of people impacted. Understandably, it may be difficult to reduce energy use during the high temperatures and the ongoing pandemic. However, everyone is urged to do their part to cut back on energy use, if health and safety permits, during this critical time,” SDG&E wrote.Just before 6:30 p.m., CAISO issued a Stage 2 emergency and warned that consumers should conserve power until 9 p.m. to avoid rolling outages.
