DUBLIN, Calif. – Actress Lori Loughlin has surrendered herself to authorities to begin her two-month prison sentence for her involvement in the college admissions scam.NBC News and The Associated Press report that Loughlin reported to the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, California, on Friday to be processed.The former “Full House” star showed up early. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Over two dozen people were displaced Sunday night after a fire ripped through an apartment building on Bradley Avenue in El Cajon. The fire started on the first floor of the building, inside of a unit that was being renovated. Witnesses told 10News they heard a commotion and people screaming there was a fire. Several neighbors say they stepped in to help using buckets of water to put out the flames. Firefighters say the fire appeared to have started inside the walls of the apartment with a plumbers torch that was being used during the renovation. Fire officials say the fire damaged four of the units, displacing 21 adults and 12 children. The Red Cross is providing shelter for the night for those displaced. One of the men working inside the apartment suffered a minor burn on his left hand but told 10News he was okay. 864

Doctors say a second wave of mental health devastation brought on by the pandemic is imminent and has the potential to overwhelm parts of the mental healthcare system.“This is going to be a long-haul situation,” said Chuck Ingoglia, president and CEO of The National Council of Behavioral Health, which offers services to 3,400 local mental health organizations around the country. “I’m certainly hearing from our members that they’re feeling a lot of tension right now.”In a survey of more than 5,000 people released by JAMA last week, 40.9 percent reported feeling at least one adverse mental health condition including depression, anxiety, and substance abuse, tripling to quadrupling rates from one year earlier. And remarkably, 10.7 percent reported seriously considering suicide within the last 30 days.“We are concerned that these [symptoms] could get worse,” said Dr. Vail Wright, senior director of healthcare innovation at the American Psychological Association. “We’re anticipating that we’ll continue to see mental health challenges including an increase in diagnostic categories as this continues if people don’t take active steps to manage their stress.”One of those major respites has been the outdoors during the summer months. (KGTV) — Firefighters battled a vegetation fire near the U.S.-Mexico border, a day after crews pretreated the area for a fire burning south of the border.The fire was reported along Marron Valley Rd. near Dulzura Thursday, according to Cal Fire San Diego. By 6:30 p.m. the fire was estimated to have grown to about 80 acres and was 10 percent contained. No structures were immediately threatened, Cal Fire said.Air and group fire resources were attacking the flames, Cal Fire added.Wednesday night, Cal Fire made air drops near Tecate after flames from a brush fire crept up to the border from the Mexico side of the border. Thursday morning, Cal Fire reported a "significant decrease" in that fire. 723
