About 9% of Americans see a dentist every year but not a physician, according to the American Dental Association.“There are a lot of dental offices in more rural areas where it's harder for those people to get access to care. So, the distribution of dentists across the country is really widespread,” said Zena.People may also be more willing to accept a vaccine once they talk with a dentist they trust.On the flip side, a COVID-19 vaccine at a dentist's office could help drum up interest and new dental business.During the H1N1 pandemic, dentists in some states gave the vaccine.Some areas have also authorized dentists to give the flu shot. Akron, Ohio police are investigating after three women were found dead inside a home on Saturday night.It happened around 7:40 p.m. while officers were conducting a welfare check at a house in Akron. According to department, the officers first tried knocking on the door and when no one answered, they began looking through the windows and saw a woman on the floor. They then forced entry inside and discovered two other women.All three women were pronounced dead at the scene by EMS of suspected drug overdoses.Police aren't releasing their names at this time, but say they were 20, 20 and 21-years-old.  623

(CNS) - San Diego County officials opened an erosion control center in Alpine Thursday to help businesses and homeowners prevent debris flows in the areas burned by the Valley Fire.The center at 2914 Tavern Road will offer free sandbags, fiber rolls and other items to help residents stabilize properties before rains arrive and potentially trigger mudslides and debris flows, county officials said.Starting Thursday, the center will be open to business and property owners from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. Appointments are not required this weekend, but will be required starting on Monday.Residents and business owners can schedule an appointment to pick up erosion control materials by calling the county's stormwater hotline at 888-846-0800.Staff will be available to advise on how to protect properties, homes, garages, sheds and other structures. Staff can also visually inspect properties and offer information on best practices to protect structures.As of Wednesday morning, the Valley Fire remained at 17,665 acres and was 90% contained, according to a Cleveland National Forest incident page.The conflagration, which broke out early on the afternoon of Sept. 5 off Spirit Trail and Carveacre Road in Japatul Valley, ultimately destroyed 30 residences and 31 outbuildings, damaged 11 other structures and left three firefighters injured, according to Cal Fire.Jamul resident Jim Grigsby told ABC 10News, “The fire burned down three of my neighbors' houses. And I’m looking out through my window now and it’s kind of sad ...
