CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A Fiscal Crisis and Management Assistance Team [FCMAT] is in place to review financial decisions in the Sweetwater Union High School District amid a severe budget shortfall. Michael Fine of FCMAT said Tuesday his team is investigating the district’s spending. The team is currently reviewing documents and will be in the county later this month to interview personnel within the district, Fine said.The Sweetwater Union High School District is about million in debt for the 2018-2019 school year due to fiscal mismanagement. District officials previously said the shortage was due to expenses from staff raises, including costs of substitute teachers and an unexpected million expense for utilities. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- One driver was arrested at a DUI checkpoint in Chula Vista overnight Saturday. According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the checkpoint was held on the 300 block of East H Street between 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 a.m. Sunday. More than 3,500 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint, 1,209 were screened, 13 drivers underwent sobriety tests and one was arrested. (KGTV) -- A Hazmat crew was called to a propane leak at a home in Chula Vista Tuesday night. Crews at the scene tell 10News that a food truck parked in the driveway of the home was leaking propane. Initially the plan was to jack the truck so crews could access, but they were unable to do so. They're now planning to safely light off the propane until it burns off. At this time one home has been evacuated, others may be evacuated soon. *This is a developing story. 10News will continue to update as details become available.  595
