Xi attended via video link leaders' meetings of BRICS, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and the Group of 20 (G20) from Nov. 17 to 22. The events were held as the world is coping with a pandemic of a century, a serious global economic recession and a series of turbulences and changes.

Myanmar President U Win Myint said that the digital economy is an important segment of sustainable development, "especially at a time when we are becoming increasingly reliant on digital technology for communication, education, health care, trade, investment, stock exchange, and other forms of business activities in the face of challenges posed by the global pandemic."

The premier called for a clear understanding of the gap between China's sci-tech innovation and the world's advanced level in the fields of basic research and applied basic research, and urged international exchanges and cooperation.
