NASHVILLE, Mich. - A family with a passion with aviation decided to take their hobby on the road.Gino Lucci of Nashville, Mich. is a pilot, mechanic, and federal inspector of aviation. His passion prompted an idea when he was a kid."I always wanted to do one, since I was 12-years-old, and I just wanted to make an airplane out of a motor home," said Lucci. "The truck won't fly, but the airplane drives."Lucci named the RV The Fabulous Flamingo.To make his plans a reality, Lucci's son Giacinto tracked down a plane in Missouri. It had been deemed inoperable due to a tornado that rolled through the area. The plane was built in 1943 and used in South America by the Navy during the World War II era."It took us about four to six weeks to really sit down and say, 'Alright, I’ll sell it to you," Giacinto recalled.The family gutted the airplane but tried to keep as much of the original interior as possible. Some of the parts they removed were sent to France to restore a similar plane for a D-Day memorial.The RV is classified as a Class A motor home and is up to safety standards. More than 900 people in 48 states have been sickened with salmonella, and at least one person has died, likely caused by backyard poultry like chickens and ducks.While outbreaks of salmonella from backyard poultry is not uncommon, the number of cases this year is higher than normal, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They report 15 multi-state outbreak strains currently being investigated.Since June 24, 473 more people have gotten sick according to CDC’s data, for a total of 938 people infected with salmonella so far this year. Roughly 33 percent of those who got sick had to be hospitalized. The one reported death was in Oklahoma.At the end of July 2019, 768 people in this country had gotten sick from salmonella linked to live poultry.The CDC was able to interview about 400 patients this year, and of those, 74 percent reported having contact with chicks or ducklings. Testing from backyard poultry environments in Kentucky and Oregon identified three of the outbreak strains.The CDC recommends frequent handwashing with soap and water whenever a backyard poultry animal is touched or handled, or their eggs or habitat is touched. According to Cal Fire, the blaze dubbed the Tenaja Fire started around 4 p.m. near Tenaja Road and Clinton Keith Road. The Riverside County Fire Department reports that the fire is burning in an area with heavy fuels with a rapid rate of spread. As of 7:45 p.m. Wednesday night, Cal Fire said the blaze had so far scorched 250 acres and is 5 percent contained. MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin — Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church looks to move forward as the investigation continues into what caused the church to catch fire.On Sunday, their temporary place of worship was right across the street from the church right in the Milwaukee Area Technical College auditorium. This was their first church service since Tuesday afternoon's massive fire that destroyed their historic church."We're all reminding each other, the church is God's people.
