(HP) on Thursday introduced its Slate 2 Tablet PC, a business-targeted tablet computer running Windows operating system.Looking like the previous version, Slate 2, featuring an 8.9- inch screen, is upgraded with Intel Atom Z670 processor to deliver faster boot times and improved battery life up to six hours, said HP.It also has a Bluetooth keyboard dock and Swype keyboard which allows users to enter words by sliding a finger or stylus from letter to letter, lifting only between words.The device will be available to customers worldwide for 699 U.S. dollars later this month, according to HP.Slate 500, Slate 2's previous generation running Windows, was introduced last October and sold exclusively to businesses for 800 dollars upon launch.HP said in a statement that the Slate 2 tablet provides instant deployment for business and vertical markets such as education, healthcare, government and retail, where jobs frequently take users away from a traditional desk.The company on Thursday also announced HP 3115m, a new notebook PC targeting business, education and government customers. The notebook will be available in the Americas only next Friday with prices staring at 429 dollars.HP's consumer-oriented tablet TouchPad was killed off in August before former chief executive officer Leo Apotheker resigned. SHANGHAI, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- China has allowed the Bank of East Asia (BEA) to issue yuan-denominated bonds in Hong Kong for a second time, about three years after it became the first foreign-invested bank to make a yuan bond issuance, the bank said Wednesday.BEA China Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BEA, was given the approval by the National Development and Reform Commission of China to issue yuan bonds in Hong Kong, it said.Details on the amounts and timing of the offerings weren't available. In 2009, in a major landmark, the BEA issued its first yuan bonds in Hong Kong in an aggregate principal amount of 4 billion yuan (630 million U.S. dollars).The BEA was among the first foreign-invested banks to be given the green light to issue yuan-denominated bonds in Hong Kong, a move analysts say will bolster the international influence of the Chinese currency, also known as renminbi.Sun Minjie, deputy head of BEA China, said the second bond issuance will give the bank stable access to capital, improve its debt portfolio, and support its development on the Chinese mainland.

BEIJING, Dec. 24 (Xinhua) -- Renowned China economist Li Yining said Saturday that adjusting the structure of China's economy is a "matter of life and death" while the structure of GDP is more important than its size.The focus of the country's economic structure adjustment now should be transforming the dual structure in the urban and rural economy, which causes the widening income gaps between urban and rural residents, Li said at the China Economic Forum.He also noted that the key to stimulating domestic demand is to raise the workers' wages.With the external demand waned, the Chinese government has attempted to turn to domestic consumers to take up the slack.
