SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A person is back in ICE custody and in isolation after they were taken to Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center to be evaluated for possible coronavirus symptoms.The individual was in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement when officials determined the person needed to be taken to Sharp Chula Vista, the county said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A Pacific Beach gym ordered to close for not adhering to the county's health orders and linked to one community outbreak has reopened.The Gym was forced to close on July 23 for violating public health orders after "the owners/operators of the Gym have acknowledged that they are aware of the Public Health Orders but will not voluntarily comply," according to a copy of the county order. A week after the county ordered the gym to close, a community outbreak was traced back to the fitness center, according to health officials.The county confirmed on Sunday that the gym has been allowed to reopen after altering their facility to be in compliance with health orders requiring that gyms move workouts outdoors. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A plan to add bike lanes along 30th Street in North Park got a boost of support Tuesday from a group of 18 businesses.“We see protected lanes on 30th Street as just the beginning of the transformation of our streets to truly support biking, walking, and transit as meaningful transportation choices,” read the letter, which was sent to Mayor Kevin Faulconer and City Councilmember Chris Ward.It was signed by the owners of 18 local businesses located near 30th Street, including Modern Times Beer, Union Cowork, Waypoint Public and Bottlecraft.On Twitter, Modern Times Beer posted the letter, adding “Our world-class businesses deserve world-class streets. We urge the city to stand firm in its commitments to climate, safety, clean air, & thriving business corridors, & stick with Option A.” Here's an important thing we care a lot about: building more bike lanes. The City of San Diego is planning to build some badass bike lanes on 30th St, where our tasting room is located. This will involve replacing on-street car parking. According to data from the association, the median home price in the rest of the country is a modest 5,500. You'd have to make ,820 to qualify for a loan of that size. So why is the California housing market so expensive? SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man attempting to kill weeds set his house on fire in San Diego Sunday, according to firefighters.The fire happened just before 11 a.m. on the 4500 block of Clairemont Avenue. The man was trying to use a hand-held propane torch to kill the weeds in a planter box in front of his property when the plants caught fire.Shortly after the plants caught fire, the flames spread to the rest of the house.Firefighters arrived quickly and were able to extinguish the flames in about five minutes.Authorities estimate there is about ,000 in damage to the house.No one was injured. 613
