Vice President Mike Pence visited Wisconsin on Tuesday to make a campaign push ahead of election day in November. It's just not where the American people are - the American people know we can support law enforcement and our African American community. ?The decades of disparities run deep in Milwaukee for African Americans in areas of income and home ownership," he said.Pence points to President Trump's record with the lowest unemployment rate ever for African Americans before the pandemic, increased funding for Historic Black Colleges and Universities and more tax break investments in communities of color called Opportunity Zones. ?The vice president believes failed Democratic leadership in major cities helped Donald Trump win Wisconsin in 2016. ?"They heard him (President Trump) say to the African American community in this state: 'What do you have to lose?' At this point, I think we have done 27 million test across America," Pence responded.U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin thinks the Trump administration has not delivered enough testing supplies for hard hit places like nursing homes.The Wisconsin Democrat and potential V-P running mate for Joe Biden wants the president to use the Defense Production Act to increase testing supplies and improve access."We're facing lots of challenges as we struggle to reopen the economy," said Baldwin, and we will continue too as we open things like K--12 schools and higher education.Baldwin is also calling for work place protection rules and supplies. Tropical Storm Josephine became the 10th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season Thursday, marking the earliest “J” storm to ever form in the basin.While Josephine is not a particularly noteworthy story due to its strength and location, the storm indicates that the 2020 hurricane season could go down as a record-breaking one. Analysis released by Colorado State University last week forecasts 24 named tropical systems in 2020, which would make it the second-most active season in history.If there are 24 named systems in 2020, it would become just the second time the National Hurricane Center would exhaust its name list. In that case, the National Hurricane Center would use the Greek alphabet for any remaining storms at the end of the season.Josephine does not pose an immediate threat to land, as of Thursday evening. The storm packs top winds of 45 MPH, and is in the open Atlantic well east of the Caribbean Islands. Two dogs were rescued after they were left inside a hot car in Brooklyn Saturday afternoon.NYPD Emergency Service Unit responded to 64th Street in Brooklyn and quickly gained access to the dogs, NYPD Special Ops said on Twitter.Oxygen was administered as the dogs were getting cooled down by officers.Both dogs were taken to the animal hospital where one is in critical condition with a strong heartbeat, police said.The dogs’ owner was arrested.Saturday’s temperatures reached highs in the 80s and low 90s. Two men are in jail after police say they stole a car -– with an infant inside.About 7:30 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a business in Boise, Idaho.“Evidence indicates that a car had been left running outside of a store, when it was stolen by two men,” according to a Boise Police Department news release. A 6-month-old infant was in the car when it was stolen. A parent pursued the car, until the driver stopped several blocks away.“One of the men exited with the child, who was still strapped into the infant car seat.  (The parent) safely took the child from the man. Thankfully, the child was unharmed,” the release stated.The suspect, later identified as Raymundo Gutierrez, 23, of Boise, was detained at the scene until officers arrived.  The other male fled in the stolen vehicle, officers said.Gutierrez was booked into the Ada County Jail and charged with accessory to grand theft, a felony.About 1:00 a.m. Tuesday, Boise Police received information that the stolen vehicle had been recovered in Canyon County -- and the driver, later identified as Robert DeShazo, was booked into the Canyon County Jail. He’s charged with felony possession of stolen property and driving under the influence, a misdemeanor.  Authorities said both suspects could face additional charges.          1396
