SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - There will not be a new pledge class this year for one fraternity at San Diego State University.Phi Kappa Theta had its charter revoked by its national organization on Nov. 6.According to Phi Kappa Theta National, recent actions by members of the CA Phi Iota Chapter caused the chapter to be placed on suspension by both SDSU and the fraternity earlier this fall."This unanimous decision was difficult yet necessary," Fraternity President Adrian Gonzalez said. "Our intention is to use this process as a means to continue our Board’s long-term vision of supporting chapters aligned with our mission, vision, and values.”The fraternity said the SDSU’s chapter’s culture no longer aligned with the fraternity. SDSU officials said Phi Kap was initially put on suspension in January of this year and advised the fraternity that any further incident would result in their removal.“Allegations of violation of the alcohol policy by the fraternity were reported in September, which necessitated the further action,” SDSU media relations officer Cory Marshall said.Phi Kappa Theta’s expulsion at SDSU is in effect for seven years. 1159

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Two men were stabbed and an officer was headbutted after a fight erupted between two groups outside a Gaslamp District nightclub.Two large groups of men were ejected from Phantom nightclub on Fifth Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. and got into a street fight outside, San Diego Police said. During the altercation, two men were stabbed.One of the victims, a 22-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen and taken to a nearby hospital. The other victim, a 24-year-old, received lacerations to his stomach, arms, and hands. Police say he was uncooperative and refused medical attention. Minutes later, he was contacted at 1200 3rd Avenue and fought with the responding officers, SDPD said.During the altercation, the man headbutted an officer and attempted to gouge out the eyes of another officer, police said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station are looking for a woman, possibly pregnant, accused of using counterfeit bills at several businesses in North County.According to investigators, on April 14, 2018, a woman used a counterfeit 0 bill at Yogurt 101 located at 152 N. Highway 101 in Solana Beach.Investigators said on April 19, 2018, the same female suspect used another counterfeit 0 bill at Sun Splash located at 2673 Via De La Valle in Del Mar. They also said the woman is believed to have used a counterfeit 0 bill at a business in Carlsbad.The suspect is described as a 25 to 35-year-old Hispanic woman who stands between 5’4” and 5’6” tall. She has long, dark wavy hair and a tattoo on the right side of her upper chest. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Video taken Tuesday shows people climbing on top of the border fence near Friendship Park as the migrant caravan approaches.According to a Border Patrol spokesperson, agents are keeping watch on the U.S. side of the park, but aren’t aware of anyone climbing all the way over onto the U.S. side of the beach.Border Patrol says it’s technically not legal for people to sit on the fence because it’s on U.S. soil, but no arrests are being made at this time.RELATED: CBP closing lanes in San Ysidro, Otay Mesa as migrant caravan approachesIt’s unclear whether or not the group is with the migrant caravan.The incident comes as U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced the closure of several northbound border lanes in San Ysidro and Otay Mesa.The closures are expected to cause delays. 818

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Two people were taken to the hospital after the car they were in crashed into a support column at a Mission Beach apartment building.The collision happened shortly after 12 a.m. on Sunset Court and Bayside Lane, according to San Diego police.The car was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it slammed into a beam that helps hold up the building.Residents heard the crash, with some saying it felt like the entire building was shaking from the impact. Despite the collision, the structure did not appear to sustain major damage.According to witness reports, the male driver appeared to be intoxicated. 10News learned he was evaluated for possible DUI.The man and a female passenger were taken to the hospital with what were described as major injuries.No other injuries were reported. 825
