As we enter the summer season, a reminder from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): you still need to keep a social distance. That means you should still stay 6 feet away from people, even in a swimming pool. Many large aquatic centers around the country have decided not to reopen for the summer season. The Florence Family Aquatic Center in Kentucky posted a message on their website, letting everyone know they will not be opening this summer. The national chain Great Wolf Lodge has closures stated on its website through June, and some locations will he closed for even longer. The CDC's 620

Brian Cisco isn’t looking for sympathy. But as he prepares to spend time behind bars, Cisco opens up, sharing his story on how he got here.Life these days for Cisco is about enjoying every single second, because soon, he’ll be behind bars. "I'm about to go turn myself in to the correctional facility in Forrest City, Arkansas for two years," he says. The FBI caught Cisco growing a lot of weed inside his house and charged him with planning to sell it. Now, he only has 12 more days to savor his freedom, before nearly everything he's used to takes a 180-degree spin. Cisco says he's come to terms with what he did, but he worries about leaving his fiancé, Susie. "At first, I think neither one of us really realized that, you know, prison was going to happen,” Cisco says. Cisco hired a former federal prisoner turned prison coach to help him learn the ropes. “I started kind of looking online, you know, trying to find some sort of resource, something to help me understand what I was going through, what was going to happen,” Cisco says. After finding the prison coach, Justin, on YouTube, Cisco paid ,000 for the coach’s help. He learned everything from how to act, how to avoid the TV room, because that's where fights can break out, and how to avoid getting too friendly with corrections officers so that other inmates don’t consider you a snitch. “My routine will be, like, lay low, stay under the radar,” Cisco says. While in prison, Cisco says he plans to focus on the simple things. “One thing Justin helped me understand and recognize is that there is an end date to this,” Cisco says.As his day to report to prison gets closer, Cisco says he'll head there better prepared and ready to become a better person and an even better husband to Susie. 1776
Becky Ianni is still haunted by years of sexual abuse that happened at the hands of her priest when she was a young child."I had buried my head, because he told me I'd go to Hell if I told on him," Ianni said about the priest. "This was my darkest secret."After coming forward, it took a year-and-a-half for church leaders to agree to a settlement, she said.Last week, Pope Francis issued a new church law that requires all Catholic priests and nuns to report clergy sexual abuse and cover-ups to church authorities. Churches have until mid-2020 to comply with setting up a reporting system. The new law does not require them to report to police, as victims such as Becky have demanded. Previously, such reporting was left up to the conscience of individual priests and nuns. "Nuns and priests are now mandatory reporters? Well, reporters to who? Religious authorities, not to police, " Ianni said. Every suspected child abuse case should be turned directly to police. They're the ones who can independently investigate it."The Vatican has argued legal systems in different countries make a universal reporting law impossible, and that imposing one could endanger the church in places where Catholics are a persecuted minority. After decades of sexual abuse scandals, critics point out there is no punishment for priensts and none who choose not to report cases of abuse.Jeff Anderson, an attorney for other victims of church sex abuse cases, calls the new law ineffective."They have demonstrated for over three decades they are incapable of handling this issue themselves and they do not want outsiders in the closed clerical culture," Anderson said. The rules also says victims can't be forced to keep quiet and must be welcomed and listened to by church leaders ... and offered medical and psychological assistance. The new law starts in June and can be changed after a three-year trial run. 1904
