A preschool teacher was arrested on Wednesday after deputies say admitted to biting a 2-year-old student on the face.Heather Marcotte, 28, has been arrested on a charge of felony cruelty to a juvenile in Louisiana.The mother of a 2-year-old student called the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office saying that when she picked her son up from school, she noticed the bite mark on his cheek.The mother said an administrator at the school informed her that her son’s teacher reported that she left the mark on the child "when her mouth accidentally hit his face" and that the teacher had been terminated following the incident, according to the Sheriff's office.Marcotte admitted to deputies that she bit the child after she became frustrated and agitated with his behavior. A principal at Education Alternatives in Bedford, Ohio is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student at the school, who was 17 at the time."He says the relationship started when they were upstairs in the gym alone, that she kissed him on the mouth," said Bedford Police Deputy Chief Rick Suts. "Since then, there had been numerous encounters in her van."The teenager told police that his relationship with Courtney Alfred continued for months.Police said the former student came to them last week. Suts said the school knew about the alleged relationship but after their own investigation said the allegations were not credible. Bedford police disagree."He's saying that he took video of them having sex and in that encounter, you see a tattoo. We got a search warrant to see her tattoo, that tattoo matches the one on the video," added Suts.Police said there were also text messages and that money was transferred from Alfred to the teenager. Police said the teen told them it was to keep him from telling her husband.Scripps station WEWS in Cleveland tried to contact Alfred at her home, but there was no answer. WEWS also called the central office for Education Alternatives, but the call was not returned. WEWS also left two messages for her attorney, Vince Ruffa, but Ruffa also did not return messages.Alfred was arrested. She was in court last week facing a sexual battery charge. A Mississippi school district has apologized and a high school band director has been suspended after the band staged a halftime skit that depicted police being held at gunpoint.The controversial skit came as the Forest Hill High School band from Jackson performed Friday during a football game against Brookhaven High School to the south. A Tokyo skyscraper is set to become the world's tallest wooden building.Japanese company Sumitomo Forestry says its 1,148-feet-tall timber tower will be completed in 2041, to mark the 350th anniversary of the business that year. The W350 tower will cost an estimated 600 billion yen (.6 billion) to build.The 70-story tower will be a hybrid structure made from 90% wooden materials. A steel vibration-control framework will underpin the design -- an important feature in a city where earthquakes are frequent.Green balconies will populate the skyscraper's exterior, connecting the building to its environment."The aim is to create environmentally-friendly and timber-utilizing cities where (cities) become forests through increased use of wooden architecture for high-rise buildings," the company said in a press release.The Japanese government is trying to encourage more developers to use wood. In 2010, it passed the Promotion of Use of Wood in Public Buildings Act, which required all government buildings up to three stories high to be constructed with wood, or to utilize wood. 1093
