Officers in New Jersey broke up a large house party in New Jersey with hundreds of people in attendance, authorities said.Police responded to a residence along Mill Pond Road in Jackson following a report of a suspicious incident around 8:30 p.m., according to Jackson Police Department.Officers arrived and spoke with several neighbors who said a house on the street was rented out to a group that was having a large party, causing a disturbance.Police contacted the homeowner, who said he had rented out the residence on Airbnb.The party expanded to about 700 people in attendance, with over 100 vehicles parked in the area, according to police.Officers began clearing the crowd from the residence and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office was contacted and authorized charges against the homeowner and party organizer for violating the state’s executive order in reference to the number of attendees allowed at a gathering.Officers from the Freehold Police Department, Howell Police Department, Lakewood Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, and New Jersey State Police also responded to assist and clear the large crowd from the residence and direct traffic as people left the area, according to authorities.During that time, police also received a call from a resident nearby reporting people who attended the party had broken into their residence and were damaging property.An investigation determined a family member of the caller was at the original party and had invited a large group back to their residence. The group was then dispersed, police said.It took until 1 a.m. for the officers to clear the residences of partygoers and all the vehicles from the neighborhood.The homeowner, later identified as 40-year-old Yaakov Weiss and the party organizers, 23-year-old Patience Guanue and 22-year-old Alicia Hinneh, were issued summonses.Gov. Phil Murphy referenced the party during his daily coronavirus briefing Monday while discussing flare-ups, particularly among young adults who attended recent house parties."You're looking for trouble, you're absolutely looking for trouble, no matter how old you are," he said of people who don't comply with social distancing orders.State Police Superintendent Pat Callahan attributed the large parties to the lack of bars and restaurants open due to the pandemic.“I do think the fact that bars and restaurants are close then create this underground situation, which is certainly not what we want," he said.In a statement, an Airbnb spokesperson said the company is in full contact with the company and is offering their support."We strongly condemn the reported behavior, which represents both a clear violation of Airbnb’s community policies and a particularly serious abuse during this public health crisis," Airbnb said.The listing has since been deactivated and the party organizers have also been removed from the platform, the company said.WPIX's Kristine Garcia first reported this story. 3005

Not only do Florida investigators say Daniel Santos was ripping hundreds of people off, but they say he flaunted it on social media.“He holds stacks of cash, firearms. And he’s not scared to show you the lifestyle that he’s living using other people’s hard earned money,” said Pasco Detective Spencer Hubbell.Hubbell has a whole file cabinet dedicated to catching Santos. He’s been arrested 55 times just in Pasco County, Florida.And he’s says this latest arrest should finally stick.Investigators said Santos was running a fraud operation, using stolen debit and credit cards, and bogus checks to bring in millions of dollars.“It’s feasible he was doing between ,000 to ,000 a day at times,” Hubbell said.Detectives said Santos, a suspected members of the Bloods gang, would raid accounts until the bank realized what was happening.In most cases, those banks would take the loss and the customers didn’t actually lose any money.US Marshall’s arrested Santos in Miami where he was living in a luxury condo.“Mr. Santos has never had a job. He’s never paid taxes. But he’s living the high life on everybody else's dime,” he said.Along with the fraud, investigators said Santos has a violent criminal history including sexual battery on a victim under 16, and trying to run down a police officer during a traffic stop.They said he was always able to bond out and go back to his criminal behavior. “He’s treating it as a game. (AP) — A federal judge has stopped the 2020 census from finishing at the end of September and ordered the once-a-decade head count of every U.S. resident extended for another month through the end of October. U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh said in her ruling late Thursday that a shortened schedule would likely produce inaccurate results. A coalition of civil rights groups and local governments had sued the Census Bureau in an effort to prevent the 2020 census from stopping at the end of the month. They said the shortened schedule would undercount residents in minority and hard-to-count communities.Koh said inaccuracies produced from a shortened schedule would affect the distribution of federal funding and political representation. The census is used to determine how .5 trillion in federal spending is distributed each year and how many congressional seats each state gets.Government attorneys had argued that the census must finish by the end of September to meet a Dec. 31 deadline for turning over numbers used for deciding how many congressional seats each state gets.Koh’s preliminary injunction suspends that end-of-the-year deadline, too. The San Jose, California-based judge had previously issued a temporary restraining order prohibiting the Census Bureau from winding down field operations until she made a ruling in the lawsuit. 1371

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) -- Three suspects were arrested Monday after reportedly shooting and injuring three women at an Oceanside shopping center.Police say Anthony Tua, 19, Deshune Bryant, 18, and a 16-year-old juvenile were all arrested for the shooting.Investigators don’t believe the victims were the intended targets because the suspects reportedly shot into a large group of people. The shooting appears to be gang motivated, according to police.RELATED: Three women injured in Oceanside shooting  The shooting took place on the 3700 block of Mission Avenue at 5:15 p.m. Sunday.According to police, three women were in the front of a clothing store when three black men suddenly came up to them before shooting. All three victims suffered non-life threatening injuries."The only thing was, 'Save the kids!' because I don't know what was happening," said Angelica Camiro, a waitress who was taking her nephews to get ice cream when the shots rang out.Camiro said she ran back into the restaurant and told all the customers to get to the back of the store before calling police. 1101
