(KGTV) - San Diego County residents who bought homes in the 90s are reaping the benefits of a hot housing market. Homebuyers who purchased their properties 20 years ago are “sitting pretty” in 2019, according to a study by GOBankingRates. The study ranked 15 California cities by property appreciation rates. Six of the top 10 increases were in the San Francisco area. Two Los Angeles-area cities, Santa Monica and Newport Beach, finished first and second on the list, respectively. The only San Diego County city on the list of top 20 locations for home appreciation was Encinitas. In 1999, the median home value in Encinitas was 3,500. The figure now stands at ,198,000, marking a 248.8 percent increase in value over 20 years, the study reports. The five-year rental income on an Encinitas home is 9,688, according to the study. (SAN DIEGO) -- If you like hitting the gas pedal when someone is merging into your lane, or you brake hard to send an angry message to the driver behind you, or you like to weave in and out of lanes at high speeds, then congrats: You helped San Diego make the list of the saltiest drivers in the United States.GasBuddy revealed the top 10 cities with the most aggressive drivers, studying behavior like speeding, hard braking or accelerating. The company compiled data from its Drives feature in the GasBuddy app, examining the top 30 metropolitan areas by population from Nov. 2018 to Feb. 2019, noting the frequency of an aggressive driving event. The data shows that no other city has a bigger need for speed than San Diego. According to Gas Buddy, San Diego drivers have 62% more speeding incidents than average US driver, followed by Orlando and Detroit. Los Angeles was 16th on the list. And, when it comes to being aggressive, San Diego ranked 6th in the country behind number one Los Angeles followed by Philadelphia, Sacramento, Atlanta, and San Francisco.“Frustration while driving in densely populated cities with high levels of congestion leads motorists to drive more aggressively and with more urgency. Interestingly, these are areas that typically see some of the highest gas prices in their respective states,” said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.ROAD RAGE FRIDAYS If you enjoy the slow lane or don’t feel the need to protect your lane by accelerating rapidly, then Wednesdays are for you. Hump Day sees 6% fewer aggressive driving events occurring compared to the average across the United States. On the other hand, if you're trying to avoid road rage, Fridays are the worst days to be on the streets.“The most aggressive day on the road is Friday, with 14% more aggressive driving events occurring compared to the average across the United States,” the report said.If being an aggressive driver doesn’t get you or someone else killed, then consider that road rage will drain your wallet costing some bad motorists hundreds of dollars.“Frustrated drivers can get agitated quickly, and their aggressive driving habits like speeding, rapid acceleration and braking can lower gas mileage by as much as 40 percent, costing them as much as 7 per year in additional fuel consumption,” the report said.READ THE FULL STUDY HERE 2370

(KGTV) — Stark similarities between a San Francisco brewery's beer can and the iconic soft drink cups used at In-N-Out prompted the burger chain to issue a cease and desist letter, though not without some light-hearted humor.Seven Stills Brewing recently crafted a new Neapolitan-style beer called "In-N-Stout," wrapped in a design resembling the much-loved burger chain's cup featuring palm trees and its signature yellow arrow. The resemblance is uncanny. So much so that it forced the burger chain to respond with a letter, politely asking the brewery to ditch the can.RELATED: In-N-Out sues Smashburger over new 'Triple-Double' burgerThe brewery posted the pun-laden letter on Instagram, with the caption, "We count 9. Can you find them all?""Based on your use of our marks, we felt obligated to hop to action in order to prevent further issues from brewing," In-N-Out wrote. "We hope you appreciate, however, that we are attempting to clearly distill our rights by crafting an amicable approach with you, rather than barrel through this."We look forward to resolving this in good spirits," the letter ends.RELATED: In-N-Out continues customer loyalty winning streakThe brewery has since said they will repackage?the beer, though it will remain a Neapolitan-flavored stout. They'll also be serving In-N-Out to the first 100 guests on release day.  1388

(SAN DIEGO) KGTV -- New records released show police responded to the home of the man that injured two police officers dozens of times in the past. On June 23rd, police responded to a disturbance call at the Rolando Court condo. When they smelled smoke, they called firefighters to the scene. Officers knocked on the front door for more than 20 minutes but received no response, officials said. Firefighters forced entry into the home. That’s when firefighters and officers were met with gunfire. Two officers were shot. The man inside the condo, Joe Darwish, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.Following the June 23rd shooting, Team 10 requested details regarding the number of times police responded to Darwish's address, but they were not released until after the investigation was over. The officers were cleared of any wrongdoing.Documents show that since 2013, there were 31 calls for service to Darwish's address before the night of the shooting. More than half were 5150 calls, where officers checked on the individual’s mental wellbeing. Nine calls were for disturbances, some with violence. In February 2016, there was one call listed as “CCCC,” which police say describes a chronic caller to the department. The records also revealed police were at the home eight days before the shooting for another disturbance call with potential violence. Darwish did have a criminal history and was not supposed to own any weapons. 1443
