A 12-year-old Chinese girl who went missing from a tour group at an airport outside Washington D.C. — sparking an investigation into a possible kidnapping — was located Friday in the New York City borough of Queens, safe and in the custody of her parents, the Metro Washington Airport Authority Police said.---EARLIER STORY: A search is underway for a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia, while visiting the United States from China. An Amber Alert has been issued for Ma Jingjing, who was reported missing from her tour group on Thursday morning. Authorities are looking into whether Jingjing knew the couple with whom she left.Jingjing, who is 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 90 pounds, was last seen with her tour group at about 8:15 a.m. on Thursday. She is believed to have left the airport "without force" with an unknown woman, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Chief David Huchler said late Thursday. Jingjing was in possession of her passport at the time.Airport surveillance video shows the woman helping the girl put on some clothing, and when they left together, the 12-year-old was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a black jacket.Huchler said Jingjing and the woman got into a white, late-model Infinity QX60 with unknown New York tags. The vehicle was being driven by an unknown man. The woman is described as 5 feet, 2 inches to 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds and with dark hair.Huchler said at a news conference Friday that authorities are investigating whether Jingjing and the woman know each other."The child appears to have left without any force," Huchler said. "She entered the vehicle without any force but that does not release any of our concerns."Authorities also are looking into whether Jingjing had previous contact with the man and woman. Huchler said the girl was approached by two individuals as her tour group visited the World Trade Center in New York. The extent of that contact is unclear."It appears there was some familiarity, but I don't know if it was a cordial exchange and that is something that we are trying to verify at this time," Huchler said.It also is unclear if the individuals from the airport are the same as the couple in New York, but it appears that they are "connected," Huchler said.Jingjing had been traveling in the United States since July 26 with a group that was visiting schools and sightseeing, Huchler said. The group was en route to California after visiting New York. Sometime after arriving at Reagan Airport, Jingjing became separated from the group, Huchler said. Another student notified chaperones that she was missing as the group proceeded through the airport's security check-in, he said.Virginia State Police, the FBI, Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority and the National Center for Exploited and Missing Children all are involved in the search.Police are asking anyone with information to call 703-417-2400 or contact the Virginia State Police at 1-800-822-4453.The-CNN-Wire 3090
4S RANCH, CA (KGTV) - A rash of street racing on a straightaway in 4S Ranch has neighbors calling for the county to intervene.Surveillance images show the beginning of an illegal street race on Four Gee Road Tuesday morning that ended in a crash. No one was injured, but neighbors are growing weary of the close calls.“This most recent incident was probably the most severe case we’ve ever seen,” said Tony Cesario, who has dozens of the incidents on video.Cesario’s security camera on his back fence caught the moments before a BMW racing a pickup truck ran off the road.“This happens on a weekly basis,” said Michael Chard, another neighbor, “it’s teenagers.”Residents say they call the authorities when it happens, but the drivers are always gone before law enforcement arrives.“At some point, somebody’s going to get killed,” added Chard. The county has previously denied resident’s attempts to add speed bumps on the half-mile long straightway that runs from Mount Gee to Camino Del Norte.A hangup for their efforts is that Four Gee Road is used for fire access. The Rancho Santa Fe Fire District has the final approval for any road alterations as part of the the fire code.A spokesperson says the speed bumps can damage their equipment when they are responding to a fire.Lucy Chard was home when Tuesday’s crash occurred and she says it’s only a matter of time until happens again.“There was a line of kids right down there waiting for the school bus,” said Chard standing where the BMW crashed, “and if this happened a few hundred yards down the road it would have been a different situation.” 1610

(KGTV) - The world's oldest message in a bottle was discovered half-buried at a West Australian beach nearly 132 years since it was written. The Western Australian Museum confirmed Tuesday that the message is dated June 12, 1886 — dating back more than 48,000 days. The old gin bottle was jettisoned from the Germain sailing barque "Paula," according to the museum."It just looked like a lovely old bottle so I picked it up thinking it might look good in my bookcase. My son’s girlfriend was the one who discovered the note when she went to tip the sand out," Tonya Illman, the woman who discovered the bottle told the museum. "The note was damp, rolled tightly and wrapped with string. We took it home and dried it out, and when we opened it we saw it was a printed form, in German, with very faint German handwriting on it."RELATED: Billionaire explorer discovers sunken US WWII aircraft carrierIllman's husband then spent time researching the message before discover just how far back it dated.According to the museum, the bottles were part of an experiment by what was known as "Deutsche Seewarte," or German Naval Observatory. For 69 years, thousands of bottle were tossed overboard German ships studying ocean currents. The notes, which contained dates and coordinates, would instruct whoever finds the bottle to write back when and where they located the note to help researchers build data on currents. In total, the museum says 663 bottles as part of the experiment have been discovered.RELATED: Unprecedented 7,000-year-old Native American burial site found in FloridaThe Illmans have loaned the bottle to the museum to put on display.
