SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – One of the PGA Tour’s most popular events, the Farmers Insurance Open, will once again be held in San Diego, but no fans will be allowed to attend the January 2021 tournament due to the coronavirus pandemic.Event organizers Century Club of San Diego announced Monday that the Farmers Insurance Open is set for Jan. 25-31 at Torrey Pines Golf Course.However, spectators will be prohibited from the tournament site.Century Club CEO Marty Gorsich said, “We recognize that COVID-19 requires dramatic modifications to the operations of our annual event. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police were called to a La Jolla mansion known to host Airbnb parties for the second time in months following reports of wild and violent parties. Alysa Dale says the multi-million dollar mansion was the scene of a violent party packed with teenagers over the weekend. Amid the chaos, Dale says her 18-year-old daughter was brutally attacked. “Physically she’s fine, but mentally she’s broken. I have a broken child right now,” Dale said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person was killed and another person was in critical condition following a shooting in Shelltown early Saturday.The shooting was reported at about 1:30 a.m. near Epsilon St. and 42nd St., according to San Diego Police. Two men were standing outside when the shooting occurred, but it's unclear what led up to the gunshots.One man in his 50s died and another man in his 60s suffered non-life threatening injuries.Police were not able to immediately give a suspect description, but were interviewing neighbors Saturday morning. 556

According to the San Diego County Department of Health, 20 people have now died from hepatitis A. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Qualcomm employees reporting Wednesday the company is laying off workers in San Diego.The San Diego Workforce Partnership confirmed that 1,231 workers will be laid off by June 19 from the company's Sorrento Valley headquarters.Three employees, one reached in person the other two by phone, tell 10News they believe many more will be let go at other locations, including San Jose, Santa Clara, New Jersey and in Europe.
