(KGTV) -- Dozens of dogs and cats landed in El Cajon today, after a flight from Louisiana to Gillespie Field. In July, rescue partners at Acadiana Animal Aid in Lafayette, LA helped rescue animals following floods in the area. This month, they've teamed up with the Wings of Rescue to help overcrowded shelters.  The 75 to 90 animals will go to The Rescued Dog, Labradors and Friends Rescue, San Diego Humane Society, and the Rancho Coastal Humane Society.  512

Dozens fetuses and infant remains were discovered during Detroit police raids on two metro Detroit cemeteries on Wednesday as part of the state's investigation into Perry Funeral Home.According to police, the raids were prompted by a tip that there were between 100 and 125 fetuses from Perry Funeral Home being stored at the cemetery.Officers say they discovered 27 sets of infant and fetal remains that had improper or missing paperwork from Knollwood Cemetery in Canton, Michigan and 17 from Gethsemane Cemetery in Detroit.In October, officers found 36 fetuses in cardboard boxes and 27 more in freezers from inside Perry Funeral Home in Detroit. When the intruder refused to stop, the driver tried to physically block him from getting into the passenger area, Uelen said.Seeing the two men fighting, a grandmother of one of the students hurried aboard to try to help the driver. As the struggle between the three escalated, the assailant pulled a knife, Uelen said.At that point, a second bystander entered the bus and intervened.After a scuffle, he was able to pry the weapon away from Barker and pull him off the bus.Meanwhile, an older student ushered the other children to the back of the vehicle, called out for help to some parents who were still nearby and helped the young students get out of the bus through a back door and rear windows.Arriving deputies arrested Barker, a Campo resident, without further incident. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- El Cajon city leaders will consider the possibility of a ban on the sale of vaping products at their next meeting in November. Tuesday evening, city council leaders heard from dozens of people for and against the idea; but the issue was not on the agenda.Councilman Gary Kendrick first brought up a city-wide ban in July. Tuesday afternoon, he was joined by school leaders, doctors, health officials, and parents who all believe vaping is an epidemic targeting kids. "These people who are selling vaping devices and vaping liquids to our children are profiting from the suffering of our children," said councilman Kendrick. A member of the Cajon Valley Union School Board said vaping is rampant in children as young as elementary age. "The liquids that are being used our being promoted to our youth , having vaping devices available at a very low cost in our liquor stores or 7/11/'s for approximately a dollar is promoting to our children that they can easily have access to them," said Jill Barto. Joey Johnson works at United Smoke Shop and Vape. He says if it weren't for vaping, he'd still be smoking two packs a day. "It's astonishing how much it’s truly helped me," said Johnson. Johnson believes a ban punishes legitimate businesses and will only create a bigger black market. "Gas stations places like that don’t care, so it’s either that or people on the streets or getting THC cartridges from people on the street who don’t know what they’re doing , they’re adding stuff to it to make it “vapable” or able to smoke and that’s the people that are dying," said Johnson.
