CINCINNATI — Cincinnati police, who were told a car was stolen with an infant still inside, now say that a child was never in danger and that the person who reported the car stolen lied to get a quicker response from police.Just before 10 p.m. Thursday evening, a 2010 Mercury Milan was reported stolen from a BP gas station in the 1300 block of Hopple Street with a 10-month-old infant still inside.Police caught up with two suspects in the car shortly before 11 p.m., and the suspects fled the vehicle about five miles away from where it was reported stolen.Officers did not find a child inside the vehicle, and the suspects evaded capture, police said.Cincinnati police said the person who reported the car stolen changed his story about 45 minutes into their investigation, saying the infant was not in the car when it was stolen."He stated that there's some money in the car, and that's why he told us there was a 10-month-old in the car, because he knew it would be a top priority for us if this was the case," Cincinnati Police Capt. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Customers narrowly avoided being hit by an out-of-control truck that struck a Chula Vista bank Tuesday, sending cash flying.Four people were using the ATMs in a vestibule at the Chase bank at 1120 Broadway about 12 p.m. when the Dodge Ram truck crashed through the glass entryway.Three customers dodged the truck, which came dangerously close to Anna Gonzalez.“I’m shaking; I have a big angel with me,” said Gonzalez.Gonzalez had tried to use an ATM but when it didn’t work, she moved to another machine. The first machine was the one hit by the pickup. Three other customers in the vestibule dodged the truck.Irene Archuleta was cut by glass from the vestibule’s shattered windows.“Regular day, going to the ATM to withdraw some money. The next you know there was a truck right next to me,” said Archuleta. “Definitely an angel looking over us.”An elderly man was injured and taken to the hospital, along with two bank employees who were in another room and thrown from their desks upon impact.There was no immediate word on the severity of the injuries.The driver, who was not identified, was not injured, according to Chula Vista Fire Captain Francisco Soto.Chula Vista Police are looking into the cause of the crash.Firefighters said the crash did not damage a load bearing wall, making it possible for them to remove debris and return cash to the bank. 1399

Through the Parent Intervention Program (PIP), parents learn new strategies while their children develop their social-emotional skills and new ways of expressing themselves. PIP is offered free to Chula Vista families through the Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD)."We want to do what we can for our families and children when it comes to the whole child, not only cognitively but socially and emotionally," said Rita Palet, the Director of Early Childhood Education Programs for CVESD.Palet says this is now a priority for the district, which is why they're offering the PIP program to families for free."Behaviors take a while to develop, so they do take a while to diminish," said Palet.Through the program, parents meet others dealing with similar struggles. "When you come here it makes you feel safe, I feel safe coming here, even when we had a rough morning getting here, they're so welcoming," said Mina Fagen, who brings her son to the program.Fagen says her son started acting out after changes happened in the family; his sister went to kindergarten and they also had a new baby in the family."I felt overwhelmed, and still at times feel overwhelmed, but this program gives me a safe place to go to," said Fagen.Parents ultimately give back to the program by volunteering their time later as a "payback parent." This means staff members have completed the program with their own child and can support others going through the program.
