Police are investigating an alleged sexual misconduct incident at Las Brisas Academy in Goodyear, Arizona. The allegations were first reported to the principal Wednesday night, by the parent of the victim, who found text message conversations between 27-year-old Brittany Zamora and her 13-year-old male student. The conversation indicated there were sexual activities happening between the two, on and and off campus. According to police records, the teen's parents were alerted to the explicit messages by a parental app. After initially reporting the relationship to the Las Brisas principal, the 13-year-old's father also contacted Buckeye police. In a report made to police, the victim's father said he received a phone call from Zamora and her husband, who were allegedly "pleading with him not to contact the police." During the call, Zamora's husband reportedly asked to "meet up" and "settle this." 921

People in Idaho are walking through their future homes before the walls go up. "It's like you're really there cooking in your kitchen walking to the fridge back to the sink," said the owner of Draftech Brendan Smythe. Incorporating virtual reality into the mix can mean big bucks saved for homebuyers. There's a big demand in Idaho's Treasure Valley home market. According to data, nearly a quarter of sales are of new homes, and the cost of land and construction is rising. Some builders say nearly ,000-30,000 can be saved by making changes before the fieldwork begins."The changes and modifications they know they would've made out in the field they can make them a lot sooner, earlier on, more cost-effective up front," Smythe said. Draftech is an architecture design firm in the Treasure Valley taking their 2D drawings and blueprints and bringing them to life."You have your husband or your wife right next to you in the kitchen you get a sense of size and space," said Smythe. VR also helps all hands on deck save money and time."It saves all parties time because when you're making those changes to real estate properties or buildings while they're being built that can extend your timeline, so it can be extremely costly," said Annie Morley, the president of the Idaho Virtual Reality Council.Interior designers are also included in the VR equation so that clients can make change to surfaces and colors of their floors and cabinets inside their home with local materials readily available."In a few years I guarantee there won't be a single home designed without virtual reality," Smythe said.  1680

PAHOA, Hawaii (KGTV and AP) - A 6.9 earthquake and several other strong quakes shook Hawaii’s Big Island Friday near where a volcanic eruption has forced residents to evacuate. The U.S. Geological Survey recorded at least seven quakes that measured above a 4.0 magnitude Friday, in addition to smaller tremors.Hawaii County Civil Defense says Friday's earthquakes were centered near the south flank of Kilauea volcano. Officials say there's no tsunami threat to the Big Island. After a week of earthquakes and warning, an eruption began Thursday and continued Friday, with lava spurting from three volcanic vents.SLIDESHOW: Volcano erupts, sends lava over roadsActing Mayor Wil Okabe says officials are trying to confirm a fourth vent.He says two homes have burned. He says one owner lives on the U.S. mainland and officials are trying to find the owner of the second home, who is likely in a shelter. Officials are trying to confirm the extent of the damage, but Okabe says the houses likely burned completely. Some residents living near spattering lava in Hawaii said Friday morning they were frustrated that they were not being allowed to go home.RELATED: Volcanic eruption, lava forces evacuationsHawaii County issued a mandatory evacuation order for neighborhoods near the lava flow in the mostly rural Puna district of the Big Island. In addition to the danger from lava, civil defense officials are warning the public about high levels of sulfur dioxide.Brad Stanfill says the lava is more than three miles (5 kilometers) from his house but he's still not being allowed in. He wants to go home to feed his pets and check on his property. He's concerned about reports of looting. One woman angrily told police guarding Leilani Estates she was going into the area and they couldn't arrest her. She stormed past the police unopposed.RESOURCE LIST: Hawaii evacuationsThe Hawaii National Guard was activated Friday, with 70 soldiers and airmen assisting those affected by volcanic activity. The troops will patrol and assist with evacuations and security. 2061

OTAY MOUNTAIN (CNS) - A small brush fire that broke out on Otay Mountain was set as a signal by a man who was hurt after entering the United States illegally, an official said Saturday.Border Patrol agents interviewed a 25-year-old Mexican citizen who said he started the fire after he hurt his ankle and was left behind by a larger group he had crossed the border with, according to U.S. Border Patrol Agent Eduardo Olmos.A Cal Fire battalion chief said the blaze was set as a signal fire. The fire was reported on the mountain, which is east of Otay Mesa and just north of the U.S.-Mexico border, around 11:30 a.m., Cal Fire Capt. PHOENIX — A high school play with controversial costumes has some parents outraged.Three students at the Arizona State University Preparatory Academy Phoenix campus dressed in Ku Klux Klan costumes for a school play. Parents say the school never notified them or the rest of the student body that was not in the drama class. The popular play, "The Foreigner," was performed at an assembly for all high school students. "Three students dressed as the KKK walked down the middle of the assembly as part of a play," explained one parent, who wanted to remain anonymous at his daughter's request. "They were in hooded robes."The Klansmen are part of the scripted comedy play but this parent says the characters could have easily been portrayed without "full regalia.""We can talk about racial prejudice, we can talk about the insensitivity, but to have our children put on the robes and assume the characters, it's wrong...There is no justification for it," the parent said.A spokesperson for ASU Preparatory Academy issued the following statement: 1066
