SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Driving on roads in San Diego during the holiday season can be a headache, as residents and tourists alike deal with increased traffic caused by extra congestion. This year, during Thanksgiving week, the roads have been a little bit safer, according to statistics released by the California Highway Patrol. San Diego County DUI arrests and auto fatalities were both down from last year, for the time period between Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and Friday at 6:00 a.m. Going into the weekend there have been a total of 21 DUI arrests recorded in San Diego, a decrease from 27 arrests from 2017. RELATED: Check 10News?traffic updatesThe results are also reflected across the state, where the 294 DUI arrests are down from 386 a year ago. There have been no fatal car accidents in San Diego, compared to one at this time last year. Across the state there were 17 car accidents resulting in death, compared to 19 in 2017. The CHP reports that of the 13 fatalities that occurred in their jurisdiction, five were not wearing seat belts.  1142

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Fire crews responded to a small brush fire that broke out Wednesday afternoon in a highly residential area.According to firefighters, the blaze broke out on the 2500 block of Sumac Drive near Azalea Hollywood Park.Crews were quickly able to stop the forward rate of spread before flames spread to nearby homes.In total, the fire burned three fourths of an acre.  395

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Federal indictments were unsealed Thursday charging 75 people nationwide, 40 in San Diego, with involvement in an international money-laundering scheme.Prosecutors said those charged have been involved with crimes ranging from drug distribution to money laundering.Investigators seized more than million, 95 kilograms of methamphetamine, 63 kilograms of heroin, 10 kilograms of fentanyl, 92 kilograms of cocaine, 252 kilograms of marijuana, and 20 firearms, including semiautomatic assault rifles and handguns.RELATED: Ex-MLB pitcher Esteban Loaiza now faces federal drug charge"We have siphoned the cash and the life out of a San Diego-based international money laundering organization with ties to the Sinaloa Cartel," U.S. Attorney Adam Braverman said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — FBI investigators are searching for a man they say robbed two Wells Fargo locations over the last two months.The man entered the Wells Fargo at 5522 Balboa Ave. just after 5 p.m. on Sept. 11 and handed the teller a note demanding money, according to FBI investigators. The man then left the bank on foot in an unknown direction.Investigators believe the same man also robbed another Wells Fargo location at 276 N. El Camino Real in Encinitas just after 3 p.m. on Oct. 6. He made the same demand via note and left.MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodIn both instances, he received an unknown amount of cash.The man is described as white, in his 50s or 60s, standing about 6-foot-2-inches, and with gray hair. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Firefighters responded Tuesday afternoon after a brush fire broke out near Scripps Mercy Hospital Tuesday afternoon. According to fire crews, the fire broke near northbound SR-163 and Washington Street. At this time it's unclear what caused the fire. Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the area as passersby drove on the roadway.  381
