San Diego Police was called by federal police.Police cleared the scene shortly after 12 p.m. and reopened 1st Ave., from A St. to Beech St., and Ash St., between 2nd Ave. and Front St. 440

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Six people inside a minivan that drove down a flooded road near Fashion Valley mall were rescued Friday, according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue official. Avenida del Rio, a popular exit route for the mall south of Friars Road, was closed Thursday and Friday due to rising water levels in the San Diego River. A lifeguard river rescue crew was nearby, along with fire trucks. RELATED: Del Mar cliff crumbles near train tracks following heavy rainsThe swift water rescue team used a raft to rescue everyone inside the van. There were five women and one man inside. No one was hurt, fire officials said.Police say the car was driven by a rideshare driver who had picked up five women at the mall who were all visiting from out of the country.There are barriers on the south side of Fashion Valley mall indicating the road is closed. 854

  

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- SeaWorld has confirmed that the company completed layoffs Friday, a spokesperson confirmed to 10News. It’s unclear exactly how many people were laid off in San Diego or companywide, but the move comes as SeaWorld continues to see an increase in attendance at its parks. The move also comes as SeaWorld San Diego gets ready to open a new attraction called Tidal Twister this May. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Starting Friday, city leaders are accepting the public's input on the future of the Sports Arena area.Members of the public can leave their feedback in a virtual open house (here) through Monday, July 20, where they can also look at plans proposed for the Midway District site.Right now, strip malls, the Sports Arena, and parking lots fill the 48-acre city-owned land.
