YPSILANTI TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office says a husband shot and killed his wife, a mother of two, after mistaking her for an intruder early Thursday morning.According to a spokesperson, deputies were called to the home around 2 a.m. Thursday after a report of a woman shot and not breathing.The sheriff's office said the family was sleeping and the 30-year-old husband woke up to what he thought was someone breaking into his home. He reports that he grabbed his gun, saw what he believed to be an intruder and pulled the trigger.The person he thought was the intruder was actually his 31-year-old wife.Two children, ages 2 and 4, were inside the home at the time and neither were injured.Deputies say the husband was taken into custody and is being held at the Washtenaw County Jail as the investigation continues. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several homes were evacuated and a bomb squad called to the scene after hundreds of rounds of ammo were discovered inside a Mira Mesa home Wednesday night. Authorities were called to the home on Avenida Del Gato and Valdosta Ave between 4 and 5 p.m. According to San Diego Police, a man was cleaning his deceased relative’s home when he found the ammo. Also discovered inside the home were mortar rounds and rocket rounds. Military ordnance experts, FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were all called to the home. So far, authorities say they’re about 75 percent through the investigation. All the items discovered inside the home are so far inert, Jeff Ring, Commander of the Bomb Squad told 10News. The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department says six nearby homes had to be evacuated. A total of 14 adults and one child who live nearby had to leave. YOKOHAMA, Japan. – The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced Tuesday that travel restrictions have been placed on all remaining passengers and crew of the Diamond Princess, the cruise ship quarantined off the coast of Japan because of a COVID-19 outbreak on board. Under the restrictions, the more than 100 United States citizens still on board the ship or in Japanese hospitals will be prevented from returning to the U.S. for at least 14 days after leaving the Diamond Princess. The restrictions apply to the ship’s other passengers and crew as well. “After disembarkation from the Diamond Princess, these passengers and crew will be required to wait 14 days without having symptoms or a positive coronavirus test result before they are permitted to board flights to the United States,” said the CDC in a press release.
