BEIJING, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese foreign ministry on Friday urged relevant U.S. parties to abide by the one-China principle, the provisions of the three China-U.S. joint communiques, and handle Taiwan-related issues prudently and properly.
The two sides should take practical acts to maintain the stable operation of industrial and supply chains, opposing "decoupling," deglobalization and other acts in an attempt to reverse the course of history, Wang added.
"It is our consistent belief that China and the United States stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation," Zhao said. "Cooperation between China and the United States can benefit both countries and the whole world, and confrontation between the two countries is not in line with the interests of the international community."
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the mainland has supported its students in safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests, and helped them solve problems in returning to Taiwan for study, Ma said.
The development path chosen by the Chinese people, Wang said, meets their aspirations and the trend of peaceful development, which is beneficial not only to China but also to the world.
