"Mom stated that she started having contractions about 2:30 in the morning that morning and she didn't think that they warranted a visit to the hospital," Raney explains. "She got up later, got her kids off to school and felt that she needed to use the restroom, so she stopped at the Walmart which the middle school's right across from the Walmart."Raney says the mother felt some pressure and then the baby came out. We asked how the mother and baby girl are doing now. Then she added, "Both are gonna make it."Raney said, the incident is still under investigation. The Senate Finance Committee put big pharmaceutical companies on blast for their sky-high drug prices. Seven drug executives were grilled in a heated exchange with lawmakers, who were questioning their pricing practices. Pharmaceutical company Pfizer has raised the price of the popular diabetes drug Lyrica by 163 percent since 2012. Each of the pharmaceutical companies insisted the high costs is because it takes a lot of money to research and develop better more effective drugs. The Senate committee did not agree. The Big Pharma panel did offer ideas to find solutions to lower drug prices, including passing rebates. Additionally, Merck, as well as the majority of the panel, say they support the stop of price hikes on medicines that have no competition and encourages competition elsewhere. A babysitter is behind bars in New Mexico after allegedly leaving a 2-year-old girl in a hot car for several hours last week. The toddler, Zariah Hasheme, was pronounced dead when officers with the Hobbs Police Department responded to the scene in the 1800 block of N. Turner at about 1:27 p.m. on Sept. 17. Investigators say the child was left in the care of 41-year-old Tammie Brooks at about 6:30 that morning and she was supposed to drop the girl off at day care. However, police say Brooks drove to her place of employment instead and only realized the child was still in the car after running an errand, hours later.
