It is also the 13th day with more than 1,000 new cases. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Police Sunday identified a 24-year-old man who was fatally wounded in a shooting in Emerald Hills on Wednesday.The victim was identified as Gai Wal, who died of his wounds in the early morning on Friday, according to Lt. Matt Dobbs of the San Diego Police Department.At 5:51 p.m. Wednesday, police received a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 6100 Imperial Ave. It was soon followed by a second ShotSpotter activation near 6300 Imperial Ave. The SpotShotter is a device used by police to locate and alert whenever it detects the sound of gunshots.When patrol officers arrived on the scene, they found a man down in the parking lot of a business with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper body, Dobbs said.The officers rendered aid to the man, who was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, the lieutenant said. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - San Diego's Metropolitan Transit System announced today 40 local high school students who took part in an annual essay contest were awarded new laptop computers and backpacks.Students from more than 70 high schools around the county entered the MTS and Coca-Cola Laptop Scholarship Contest, which required the applicants to submit an essay on ways to get more students to use public transit such as lowering student transit passes.The winning students, from 27 schools, received a 15.6-inch HP Touch-Screen laptop and a Northface backpack that doubles as a laptop case. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The FBI reached out to the public Wednesday for help in tracking down a man who faces federal charges for allegedly operating San Diego-based pornographic websites that recruited young women and at least one teenage girl to engage in commercial sex acts by force, fraud and coercion.The federal agency has posted a reward of up to ,000 for information leading to the arrest of 37-year-old Michael James Pratt, who co-owned and ran online sites called "Girls Do Porn" and "Girls Do Toys."An indictment unsealed last fall alleges that Pratt also produced pornographic content involving a 16-year-old girl.Pratt and his co-defendants allegedly videotaped sex acts under the guise of distributing the footage only to private clients, then disseminated the clips online without the victims' knowledge or consent.In January, a judge awarded about million to nearly two dozen women who sued the owners and operators of GirlsDoPorn.com.
