WACO, Texas — A Houston boy who went missing in 2017 was found in Florida on Saturday with his father, who did not have custody of the child.The Sanford Police Department in Florida said Kenneth Graham, the boy’s father, left Texas with Joshua Graham at the end of 2017 without notifying his wife. It was believed he was taking the boy to Tallahassee, Florida, where Kenneth Graham previously lived. Tallahassee is about four hours away from Sanford, where the boy was found. Police in Florida said they were notified by Houston detectives on Friday that Joshua, now 9 years old, was in Sanford.The following morning, police found the boy and his father in a car at Fort Mellon Park. Police said the child was in good health.Joshua’s mother was granted sole custody of the boy in February 2018. Law enforcement in Houston filed Joshua as missing and “abducted by non-custodial parent” on March 26, 2019.“Regardless of the circumstances, the feelings of loss and devastation are indescribable when any child is taken from a parent,” said Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith. “The officers and investigators involved in this case are delighted to have played a significant role in reuniting this mother with her child after two long years. I am proud that the officers responding to this call quickly identified that something didn’t seem right, and those instincts led to this happy conclusion.”Joshua was taken into Child Protective Services custody while he waits to be reunited with his mother. Walmart workers could soon go back to work at the El Paso store where 22 people were killed on August 3, a company spokeswoman said.The store near Cielo Vista Mall has been closed for nearly two months since a gunman opened fire in one of the deadliest attacks against Latinos in the US."Construction work on the Cielo Vista Walmart is progressing smoothly and we are currently working toward re-opening the store on Wednesday, November 6," Delia Garcia, the company's senior director of communications, said on Thursday.Garcia said employees are expected to return to the property in early October "to help prepare their store to serve the community again." Every house gets one-gig internet, and that’s nothing we’ve ever experienced before,” Hellmich said.From high-speed internet to automated coffee makers, smart homes are popping up throughout the country. And just how smart the home can be depends on how much you want to spend.“The smart home features are highly dependent on your own investment,” Hellmich said.There’s also technology outside of the home that’s part of the community. Irrigation sensors can detect when grass needs to be watered, and streetlights are used to alert the community of a significant weather event or safety hazard.“They have a little LED light on top of each one of them that can change colors,” Hellmich said.The definition of a smart community depends who you ask.“A smart community is really an innovative community looking for new technologies and partnerships with folks like Arrow to solve problems in a different way,” Colorado Smart Cities Alliance Executive Director Tyler Svitak said.Using the latest technologies, Svitak says these communities can tackle problems that arise with transportation, air quality, water conservation and energy efficiency. Vittorio Caruso, the most recent American to die in the Dominican Republic, died from respiratory and heart failure after a long history of related-health problems, the country's Attorney General's office said, citing a preliminary autopsy report.Caruso had suffered from hypertension, heart disease and pulmonary disease for a long time, the office said.Caruso is the 10th known American to die in the Dominican Republic in the last year.
