CINCINNATI — A student at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, was hit "with a paddle with spikes and grooves," forced to drink large amounts of alcohol and smoke marijuana in a hazing incident involving a now-suspended fraternity, according to a report released Monday. The report details a hazing incident that occurred March 16 at the Delta Tau Delta fraternity house, the report said. The student who filed the report said he and other pledges were told they could not leave a mandatory meeting in the fraternity house, even when they requested to leave. The report said the student was hit "15 times on the buttocks," which caused cuts and bruises. People also spit in his face and kicked him, according to the report. Mental abuse is also noted in the report. The student said he and the other pledges were "blindfolded" and put in a room for about an hour-and-a-half and forced to listen to "scary music." Exposure to loud music for an extended period of time has been characterized by the 1006

Even before he became president, Donald Trump was no fan of the Oscars. "The Oscars are a sad joke, very much like our President. So many things are wrong!" Trump tweeted in 2015, just before announcing his run for president."I don't know how much longer I can take this bullsh*t - so terrible! #Oscars" Trump tweeted a year earlier.Well, if Trump were watching the 2019 show, he likely wouldn't be happy at some of the jokes made at his expense.Comedienne Maya Rudolph broke the ice early in the show by commenting on President Trump's recent national emergency declaration — a move he made in order to secure funding to build a border wall with Mexico."There is no host, no popular movie category and Mexico is not paying for the wall," Rudolph said. While introducing winner for Best Foreign Language Film, actor Javier Bardem also addressed Trump's proposed wall — doing so in Spanish.ABC translated Bardem's speech in real time."There are no borders or walls that can restrain ingenuity or talent. In any region of any continent, there are always great stories that move us. And tonight, we celebrate the excellence and importance of the cultures and languges of different countries," Bardem said.Immediately following Bardem's comments, comedian Keegan Michael Key appeared to poke fun at Trump after dropping into the Dolby Theater from the ceiling with an umbrella, a la Mary Poppins. After a few seconds of fiddling, Key simply laid the open umbrella on the ground — just as Trump did in 2018 when boarding Air Force One. 1541

Concerts and sporting events nationwide are either prohibiting fans or being canceled altogether due to coronavirus fears. With now thousands of fans holding onto tickets for events they can't go to, many are wondering how to get refunded. Answers at this moment are unclear for some. For those who have purchased tickets for NCAA events such as the men's and women's basketball tournaments, the NCAA has issued the following guidance: 1. If you have ordered your tickets from an official NCAA Championship vendor you will receive additional information via email.2. Your refund will be automatically delivered (except applicable fees) to the same card used for purchase.3. Refunds should be received within 30 business days after the date of cancellation. Many other events, such as games and concerts at the Chase Center in San Francisco, conference tournament basketball games, and the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets, are also automatically issuing refunds to ticketholders who purchased tickets directly. But one problem is many of those original ticketholders have sold their tickets through the secondary market. A representative for StubHub issued the following statement:"StubHub has been actively monitoring the evolving situation related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Our policies are designed to accommodate the needs of our buyers and sellers, and we’ll continue to review them as the situation progresses. "Our policy is to provide a full refund with fees if an event is canceled. In addition, given the current environment, if an event is canceled, customers can opt to receive a StubHub coupon valued at 120% of the original purchase. This coupon can be applied toward a future event of their choosing. "More details and FAQs are available on our dedicated 1787
