SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego City Council voted today on their intent to place a police reform measure on the November ballot.The resolution would create an independent commission on police practices in San Diego, if passed.“Today’s action is a big step in the right direction toward real accountability and transparency,” Council President Georgette Gómez said. “The Council's vote demonstrates our commitment to meaningful public-safety reform. In particular, I want to thank Councilmember Monica Montgomery for her leadership on this critical issue. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego police are asking the public to be on the lookout for a door-to-door solicitor who has prompted a string of complaints about threatening outbursts and who was seen on video taking swings at a woman in Pacific Beach.Corey Lamont Terry, 45, is wanted on felony charges of making criminal threats and attempted burglary, according to the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office. A warrant for his arrest was issued earlier this month, according to the Sheriff’s Department website.Police have been investigating Terry since at least early November, after “several” people complained about Terry’s aggressive language while soliciting money door-to-door, according to SDPD Lt. Shawn Takeuchi.Takeuchi urged the public to call their local police agency if they spot Terry, who is about 6 feet tall and weighs roughly 220 pounds. He said residents should not approach him based on his past behavior.Terry has canvassed neighborhoods in Pacific Beach and Ocean Beach in recent weeks, claiming he is raising money for charity. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego County has served Pacers Showgirls International with a cease and desist order in violation of health orders days after San Diego Padres outfielder Tommy Pham was stabbed outside the strip club.The county's letter says the Midway District strip club was allowing "live entertainment," like exotic dancing, "in violation of the Order of the State Health Officer and County Order of the Health Officer and Emergency Regulations."Under the county's current tier for California's pandemic guidance, San Diego County restaurants are allowed to operate outdoor in-person dining and indoor in-person dining at 25% capacity, but live entertainment is not allowed.The county's letter says if the strip club doesn't suspend its entertainment, it can receive a misdemeanor citation and ,000 fine for each violation. The facility could be ordered to close as well.The order says the violations were reported after Pham was stabbed in the parking lot outside the strip club on Sunday night.San Diego Police said Pham was involved in an altercation.
