BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Thursday met with delegates to the sixth China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue (S&ED) and the fifth China-U.S. High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange (CPE).
During bilateral meetings with leaders of other BRICS nations, Xi said that China is "true in word and resolute in deed" on China-Russia cooperation; that China and India are "long-lasting strategic and cooperative partners, rather than rivals;" and that China will boost cooperation with South Africa.
In a show of its openness to increasing engagement with other countries, particularly developing countries and emerging market economies, they said they "will hold a joint session with the leaders of the South American nations ... with a view to furthering cooperation between BRICS and South America."
He also met with heads of Russia's top oil and gas companies on implementing the bilateral contracts, saying Chinese and Russian oil and gas companies would continue to work on the basis of the existing cooperative results to deepen and expand cooperation and advance the China-Russia energy cooperation for even greater achievement in line with the consensus reached by the presidents of the two countries.
