After several days of public memorials in Alabama and Washington, D.C., a funeral service for Rep. John Lewis took place in the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. The same church that was formerly led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.Former President Barack Obama delivered the eulogy for Lewis during Thursday's service, speaking passionately about Lewis' so-called good trouble and both his protests and politics for change. He called Lewis “a man of pure joy and unbreakable perseverance.""George Wallace may be gone, but we can witness our federal government sending agents to use tear gas and batons against peaceful demonstrators," he said, referring to the segregationist Alabama governor who ran for president on a hard-right platform in 1968 and recent images from Portland, adding that there are still battles to be fought for voting rights and equality.Obama talked about ways to continue Lewis' legacy; restoring the Voting Rights Act, allowing former inmates to vote, adding polling locations, making Election Day a federal holiday and allowing Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico to have full representation in Congress.Former Presidents George W. Aldon Smith, who was the NFC's Defensive Player of the Year, has a warrant out for his arrest on Monday after a possible domestic incident from the weekend, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Smith is wanted on charges of misdemeanor domestic violence, assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, false imprisonment and vandalism, the Chronicle reported. Earlier the in the day, the Oakland Raiders released Smith. The incident in question was reportedly Saturday evening, and the victim identified Smith as the suspect. TMZ reported that Smith checked into a rehab facility on Monday. Smith has had frequent encounters with law enforcement. The Chronicle reported that Smith has three previous DUI arrests. He was also arrested in June 2012 when illegal weapons were found at his house during a party where two people were shot, and he was stabbed.  908

ALPINE, Calif (KGTV) - An East County woman is recounting the "breathless" moment after she looked in her truck engine and saw a very large rattlesnake.In the backyard of a home along Foss Road sits a 1978 Chevy half-ton truck, Jules Piatek's first-ever vehicle. "I love my truck. I tell my kids if I die, just bury me in my truck," said Piatek.RELATED: 6-foot-long rattlesnake found in Santee after nearly attacking dogShe's not alone when it comes to loving the truck.  Last week, just past 10 a.m., she stood in her yard and saw it."Glanced to my left and just caught a glimpse of the snake in my engine," said Piatek.When Piatek took a closer look, she saw it's head and then the rest of it, coiled up near the starter."Oh, hell no! I don't want that snake anywhere near me. Holy crap, what is it going to do?" said Piatek.What Piatek did manage to do was take a few photos, before calling up professional snake wrangler Tom Minga. He arrived and used snake tongs to remove it from the engine."It was shady, just in there just hanging out," said Minga.Minga says it was a Southern Pacific, the most common local rattlesnake and about 4-feet long. It's hardly the first oversized rattler of the season. Minga just caught another one a few homes down.A few days ago, 10News reported on the discovery of a 6-foot-long Red Diamond rattler that surprised a woman and her little dog in a Santee backyard.Minga says the giant sizes mean despite the lack of rain this winter, food remains aplenty and the snakes should continue to be an active snake season. He added that he will relocate the rattlesnake somewhere in the backcountry. 1837
