Belgian authorities are investigating the killing of three people in the eastern city of Liege on Tuesday as a terror attack, the country's prosecutor said. The incident occurred at around 10:30 a.m. (4:30 a.m. ET) when an assailant stabbed two policemen from behind before stealing their service weapons and using them on the officers, Liege Prosecutor Philippe Dulieu said at a news conference on Tuesday. After killing the two police officers, the attacker continued walking through the street and opened fire on a parked vehicle, fatally wounding the driver inside, Dulieu added.According to the prosecutor, the suspect then took refuge in a local high school where he held a woman hostage. When police intervened, the man opened fire, injuring several other officers, before he was shot dead.It is not yet clear what the attacker's motive may have been, a spokesperson from the Liege prosecutor's office told CNN earlier. Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel said he and the government send their thoughts to the victims and their families. The Belgian Royal Palace also tweeted its sympathies following the shooting. "Our thoughts are with the victims of this horrible act. Courage to their loved ones," the tweet read.According to CNN affiliate VTM, Michel and King Philippe of Belgium are on their way to Liege.Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon said on Twitter that the country's crisis center had been monitoring the situation. The crisis center said that the students in the school were safe and that none had been injured.Liege resident Didier Deflem filmed a video allegedly showing special intervention police units shooting at the Liege attacker in front of the Waha high school.Deflem told CNN: "Police made us enter the building to protect us. The PAB (Peloton anti-banditisme, a special intervention unit of the city of Liege) intervened. The man wanted to run out and he was shot down. That's all I saw. We're still in shock."Pierre Etienne Dit Pave, who teaches French language classes nearby, told CNN he was first alerted to the attack by a "commotion in the street" and went out to investigate."At one point a policeman told me to go inside. I went back to the classroom and locked the door for a while," he said. "We heard a lot of shots. We didn't see anything because we were locked in the room. We were waiting for police to give us the clearing."Liege is Belgium's third-largest city, after Brussels and Antwerp, according to the national tourist office. For centuries, it has been an important cultural and industrial center for the country. In 2011, Liege was the scene of a grenade and gun attack that left at least 5 dead and injured more than 100.The-CNN-Wire 2699

Brittany Littleton started “Little Luv Rescue” straight out of high school, taking in abused and neglected animals.“Animals are my favorite part of life, I would say,” Littleton says. “They’re just like pure, innocent beings.”When the wildfires hit southern California, Littleton didn’t hesitate to do what she does best: rescue animals. As everyone else was fleeing, Littleton drove into a fire evacuation zone to rescue livestock.“The fire came to the top of the hill, and it was like you could feel the heat from hundreds of feet away,” Littleton recalls.Littleton and other volunteers herded sheep, goats, horses, and even turtles, into their vehicles. But they realized they had nowhere to put them. Then, Cesar Millan, popularly known as “The Dog Whisperer,” stepped up to help.“I was raised on a farm, so I’m a farm boy. I had a pack of dogs and pigs and chickens, so to me, this is normal,” Millan says.Millan took in and tended to the rescued livestock. Many of them needed more care than others, like one llama saved from the wildfires.“So now, the little baby maggots are coming out,” Millan says, while tending to the llama. The animal was malnourished and had an infection. In a way, the wildfire evacuation may have been a blessing in disguise.“In her case, it actually saved her life completely,” he says. “Medically, emotionally, spiritually, everything. We were not counting on looking at this.”An extreme case like that one only underscores why Littleton fell in love with rescues in the first place.“I think everyone has that sense of like wanting to protect the innocent and animals are the innocent, and they can’t get themselves out and we have them,” Littleton says. “And people have purchased them or bred them or whatever, rescued them, and now have put them in a situation where they rely on us, so we can’t turn our backs on them. We have to get them out to safety because we are the ones who are responsible for that.” 1957

Bridger, 6 years old, saved his little sister from an attacking dog. He knew he would get hurt, but he did it anyway. He’s a hero. So, we made this happen. BOULDER, Colo. — A Boulder, Colorado man reached out to KMGH, furious about the work done by a contractor hired through the popular online service Thumbtack, and the thousands of dollars he claims he lost. The more he dug into the service, the angrier he became.               Keeping his windows clean is key for Larry Koenigsberg, considering he has amazing views from his home a hilltop community in Boulder."I can see a panoramic of the Flatirons, Pike's Peak when the sun rises in the morning," said Koenigsberg. "It’s like being on vacation every day between Colorado's 300 days of sunshine a year."Using popular online service Thumbtack, he hired Top Window Cleaning and paid the owner to clean several large windows, a skylight and a shower door. It wasn’t until the next day he realized they were damaged."The sun came shining in through all the south-facing windows, and I see all these scratches and I go outside and they're still dirty," said Koenigsberg.KMGH reached out to the owner of the window cleaning service. His attorney said no comment.Koenigsberg said that the owner of the company and the only employee came back to clean them again, hoping it was only dirt."So severe, it looked like a prism with all the blue and orange. Very deep the scratches," said Koenigsberg. After confronting the man, Koenigsberg said he only got another bill, not an apology. He went online to several sites to share his experience."I wanted a way of venting and letting other people know, and I put my review on there, but also I indicated that his intentions were good. I don't think that anybody sets out with intentions to scratch windows," said Koenigsberg.Koenigsberg said he learned Top Window Cleaning is not licensed in Colorado and the owner has a criminal history. He believes it was after he notified Thumbtack of the situation they closed the cleaning service's account. A Thumbtack spokesperson told KMGH: 2026
