Juan Vargas was first elected in 2013. He served on the committee of financial services and the committee of foreign affairs from 2019 to 2020.Vargas previously served on the State Senate representing the 40th District, the State Assembly in the 79th District, and the San Diego City Council.Hidalgo is a retired US Marine.
