EL CAJON (CNS and KGTV) - An East County man who admitted molesting an underage girl faces up to 10 years in state prison when he's sentenced March 27, prosecutors said.Shaun Crocker, 34, pleaded guilty Thursday at the El Cajon courthouse to two felony counts of committing a lewd act on a child for touching the unidentified victim, who was under the age of 14, inappropriately between September and November 2018.Prosecutors did not disclose the girl's exact age, nor would they confirm whether the defendant was related to sex offender Matthew Hedge, whose case drew headlines years after his conviction due to a judge's controversial decision to lift Hedge's sexually violent predator status and release him from custody without supervision.RELATED: Son of sex offender suspected of child molestation in San Diego CountyFollowing Crocker's arrest last year, a source told 10News that Crocker is Hedge's son.Hedge pleaded guilty in 1989 to molesting four children in the San Diego area and served 12 years in prison. He was committed to the sexually violent predator treatment program in 1997, but was released into outpatient treatment in 2005 in a trailer outside Donovan State Prison in Otay Mesa.His outpatient status was revoked within six weeks for violating terms of his release.After more than two years of in-patient hospital treatment, the court in October 2008 again granted Hedge's petition to be placed in outpatient treatment. "We do things in a different way than other companies do. It's an interesting marriage of technology and hands-on attention to detail." I think the reality is, there's certainly a lot of things competing for people's attention," Kirlin said, noting last year that Taylor Guitars made the most guitars in a year than ever in their history. (KGTV) - A husband pleaded guilty Tuesday to trying to poison his wife with a heavy metal at their East County home, court officials said.Race Uto, 27, admitted to three counts of premeditated attempted murder in an El Cajon courtroom, according to San Diego County District Attorney's office spokesperson Tanya Sierra.Prosecutors said Uto gave his wife thallium, a metal found in rat poison and ant killers.RELATED: Warrant reveals troubled marriage in poisoning case10News obtained a search warrant indicating Brigida Uto became mysteriously ill in September 2017. She suffered weakness and hair loss, and was eventually near death, according to the warrant. Friends also indicated in a GoFundMe account she suffered nerve and organ damage.Investigators with the FBI, NCIS and San Diego County HazMat determined Brigida had been poisoned by someone with access to her food and drinks. The warrant also showed that Race had an affair while he was deployed in the Navy, and that the couple had gone through counseling.Race Uto was arrested in March 2018. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Mar. 14.Brigida Uto is a special education teacher in the Mountain Empire School District and the mother of a young boy, according to the GoFundMepage. EL CAJON (CNS) - A 49-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in El Cajon Saturday.The pedestrian was hit crossing the road by a Toyota pickup in the 400 block of Jamacha Road around 6:25 p.m. Paramedics found him unconscious but breathing with serious head and leg wounds, authorities said.El Cajon police say the driver remained at the scene and isn't believed to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.Sgt. Steve Paz of the El Cajon Police Department said Jamacha would be closed between Lexington and Sunnyland avenues until around 11:30 p.m., and reminded pedestrians and motorists to always be aware."Only cross the street at designated, controlled intersections, and wear bright or light-colored clothing for visibility," he said, addressing people out and about at night on foot. "For those driving vehicles during hours of darkness, please pay extra attention to the roadway and be aware of pedestrians that may be crossing." 980
EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) -- Authorities are searching for a man who reportedly robbed a US Bank in El Cajon Monday. According to the FBI, the incident happened just after 3 p.m. at the US Bank on the 2700 block of Navajo Road. The robber reportedly approached a teller and made a verbal demand for money. After receiving the cash, the man fled the scene on foot. The robber is described as a white or Hispanic man with olive skin and grey hair who is believed to be in his 30s or 40s. He’s also six feet, one inch tall with a thin build. The man was last seen wearing a grey and white “trucker style” hat, long sleeved grey sweatshirt and baggy blue jeans.
