SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Attempted murder, kidnapping, child abuse, child abduction, criminal threats and burglary charges have been filed against a man accused of intentionally driving a pickup truck off Sunset Cliffs and into the ocean with his twin toddler daughters inside, the San Diego County District Attorney's Office announced Friday.Robert Brians is being held without bail on suspicion of driving into the water last Saturday morning with his 2-year-old daughters inside the truck. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities publicly identified a man Thursday who was fatally shot by deputies when he allegedly advanced on them with a knife in his hand at an Alpine apartment complex.Patrol personnel were investigating a report of a man yelling and threatening to kill someone in the 2600 block of Alpine Boulevard when they got into the deadly confrontation with 31-year-old Daniel Ayala about 3 p.m. Monday, according to sheriff's officials.Ayala died at the scene. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A suspected drunken driver crashed into a house in the Miramar Ranch North area of San Diego Saturday morning and was hospitalized with life threatening injuries.The man was driving his 2014 Hyundai eastbound in the 11700 block of Cypress Canyon Road when he made a left turn onto the 11500 block of Sun Ray Court about 12:30 a.m., according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department."As (the driver) was turning, he made an unsafe movement to his left, lost control and crashed into a house," Heims said.The driver was taken to a hospital with major head and face injuries, considered to be life threatening, Heims said.DUI was suspected and the crash was being investigated by SDPD Traffic Division.The name of the driver was not disclosed.No other injuries were reported. 817

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A security guard at a bar in Little Italy was sentenced Friday to six years in state prison for shooting a patron during an argument outside the establishment.Dangelo Jeffrey, 24, pleaded guilty earlier this year to charges of assault, discharging a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon for the April 20 attack that began at the El Camino Bar, 2400 India St., according to Deputy District Attorney Mary Naoom.Around 2 that morning, Jeffrey got into an argument with the male victim and others, and made threats.
