OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - The City of Oceanside is taking control of its water destiny, investing in a facility to purify recycled water from homes.“It’s not being used, it’s really a waste. A lot of that water is going out to the ocean and it’s really a precious resource," said Cari Dale, Water Utilities Director for the city. This Fall they'll break ground on the Pure Water Oceanside facility, which will sit right next to the San Luis Rey Water Reclamation Facility.The process uses state-of-the-art water purification steps that replicate and accelerate nature's natural recycling process. The facility will create between 3 and 5 million gallons per day of high-quality drinking water for the Oceanside community.Currently, the city gets most of its water from outside sources, which is costly and subject to drought and environmental disasters.Pure Water Oceanside will be able to provide 30 percent of the city's water supply.“It’s important because it’s controlling our own destiny, we’re really reusing something that would otherwise would be thrown away, so really it’s being a good environmental steward," said Dale.Orange County has been using a similar system for years.Funding for the million project will come from the city, as well as federal and state grants. OMAHA, Neb.  - The DEA is warning police and parents to be on the lookout for marijuana and methamphetamine laced candy this Halloween.The DEA and police agencies throughout the country have seen an increase of seizures of drug-laced edibles, including but not limited to chocolates, suckers and gummies. The DEA's Omaha Division has not identified any specific threats but issued an advisory.The items are often professionally packaged and can easily be mistaken for regular candy or baked goods. Last year the DEA found marijuana-laced candies sold in packages labeled; Munchy Way, 3 Rastateers, Twixed, Keef Kat and Rasta Reese's; had been collected during Halloween.Signs of marijuana or meth-laced candy include unusual wrapping, appearance, unusual colors, odd smell, misspelled candy labels, or candy or food that is unwrapped or unmarked.Parents and caregivers should seek immediate medical attention if a child ingests drug-laced candy and then contact local police. 988

But the company will continue allow people to post material that supports these groups - so long as they do not otherwise violate its content policies against things like hate speech and abuse. NYE COUNTY, Nevada — Famed Love Ranch brother owner and GOP Assembly candidate Dennis Hof has died.The Nye County Sheriff's Office confirmed Hof's death Tuesday morning at the Love Ranch in Crystal, outside of Pahrump. Detectives and deputies are currently on scene and conducting an investigation into his death. Hof was 72 years old. His cause of death is unknown at this time.  Hof's campaign manager Chuck Muth first tweeted about his death.  489
