(KGTV) — U.S. Navy veteran Michael White has been freed by Iran and left the country on Swiss government aircraft.White was jailed in Iran in 2018 while visiting a woman he had met online and fallen in love with, the Associated Press reported. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being convicted of insulting Iran's supreme leader and posting private information online.Secretary of State Mike Pompeo issued a statement, reading in part that White would be reunited with his family."He is now on his way back to the United States, where we look forward to reuniting him with his family. According to family spokesperson Jonathan Franks, White went to Iran to see a woman described as his girlfriend and he had booked a July 27, 2019, flight back home to San Diego on United Arab Emirates.White's mom filed a missing person report with the State Department after he didn't board the flight.White worked as a cook in the U.S. Navy and left the service about a decade ago. A 6-year-old boy stood crying in front of a gas station convenience store trying to find help for a man he thought was “choking,” Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies say.That man, Jose Bermudez, was overdosing on heroin, deputies wrote in an arrest report.Bermudez smoked heroin earlier in the day and then picked the boy up from school on April 23, Bermudez said in the report. He drove with the boy in the car to the Speedway Gas Station at 5019 Okeechobee Blvd in suburban West Palm Beach.The next thing he says he remembers was waking up in the hospital.A friend happened to call Bermudez at the time of the alleged overdose and the 6-year-old answered. When the friend heard choking noises in the background, the friend told the boy to go find help, the report states.A man came up to the boy in front of the store and asked what was wrong. He said Bermudez was choking and needed help.Deputies arrived on scene and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue took Bermudez to the hospital for treatment. Once he was discharged, deputies placed him under arrest. Bermudez is facing a child neglect charge for failing to provide the boy with proper care as a person responsible for the child’s welfare, court records show.Bermudez was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and released on ,000 bond. 1323

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake hit a remote part of Alaska on Sunday, according to the US Geological Survey.There have been no reports of injuries to people, or damage to places or pipelines, after the quake on Alaska's North Slope, according to the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Alaska Earthquake Center.The tiny town of Kaktovik is closest to the epicenter, about 52 miles away.There were several strong aftershocks following the quake, according to USGS data and the earthquake center. (KGTV) -- Tuesday, SpaceX launchged several satellites into orbit that will replace a satellite network and monitor climate change. The Iridium-6/GRACE-FO satellites were launched just before 1 p.m. from Vandenberg Air Force Base. For this particular mission, SpaceX launched five Iridium NEXT satellites as part of the company's campaign to replace the world's largest commercial satellite network. A total of eight Iridium NEXT launches are planned with the company that will send into orbit 75 new satellites. Also on board the Falcon 9 rocket will be satellites that will monitor the movement of earth's mass for NASA and the German Research Centre for Geosciences.Watch the launch in the player below:  775
