An emergency bill in California will continue the state's moratorium on evictions for nonpayment, but evictions could resume in February.The deal, reached Friday, will avoid what some had dubbed the eviction cliff that was set to begin Sept. 1. The Southern California Rental Housing Association expressed major concerns about the legislation, saying it does not protect against financial ruin for landlords. According to the statement, one year of a person's urine holds enough nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium to fertilize 400 square meters of wheat.However, these features have done little to calm the ire of local residents, who have written to the town hall in protest."I think installing a urinal in the streets of Paris for those who don't respect their surroundings is a good idea, but in my opinion, this model is not attractive at all, and where it's been set up is not appropriate at all," one man told reporters.Another resident complained, "it is definitely a desirable and historic neighborhood, but seeing people urinating right in front of your door is not the nicest thing."Ariel Weil, mayor of the 4th district of Paris, tweeted in defense of the urinals on Monday, calling them "an invention of genius." An Uber driver pulled a knife on his passengers on Sunday morning after one of them said his vehicle smelled like smoke, according to police.Two passengers were getting out of an Uber in Lakewood, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, around 12:38 a.m. when a female passenger slammed the door and the driver made a comment to the female passenger.The female passenger said his vehicle smelled like smoke and she shut the door again. According to police, the driver exited the vehicle with a knife and yelled at a male passenger.According to the police report, words and physical slaps were exchanged between the two men. The driver threatened to get a gun, which prompted the man and woman to go into a house.The driver left the area. When police arrived, they took the knife that was found at the scene. ANAHEIM (CNS) - A man working in a trench at Disneyland in Anaheim suffered fatal injuries Thursday when a steel plate fell on him. Paramedics were called to the park about 3:20 a.m., a Metro Net Fire dispatcher said. Javier Jimenez, a 37-year-old West Covina resident, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital, according to Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Coroner's Office. Jimenez was working for a contractor installing piping for a heating and air conditioning system outside of the theme park on Disneyland property, according to Anaheim police Sgt. Daron Wyatt. Wyatt said a crane carrying a large pipe accidentally struck a cross beam, which knocked over a large metal plate shoring up a wall. He said the metal plate knocked over the worker, who was in an 8- to 10-foot-deep trench. ``We are saddened by this tragic accident involving a contractor and on behalf of Disneyland Resort extend our deepest sympathies to Mr. Jimenez's family, friends and co-workers,'' said Liz Jaeger, a Disneyland Resort spokeswoman. 1065
