CINCINNATI -- A Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky bus hit a person walking in downtown Cincinnati on Tuesday morning, according to police.The collision happened at Fourth and Walnut streets, near the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky's Cincinnati ticket office. 284

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Police are looking for three people who tried to steal an ATM from outside a Mexican restaurant in Chula Vista Tuesday morning.According to the Chula Vista police, at around 5 a.m., three men were seen ripping the machine from the ground outside the restaurant in the 2500 block of Main Street, near Broadway.The trio tried to load the ATM onto the back of a large flatbed truck, but it fell off. They struggled to get the machine back on the truck and eventually gave up.Witnesses told police they saw the three men run away down Main Street.Police say the ATM was heavily damaged, but it doesn’t seem like they got away any money. The truck was believed to be stolen.Police are hoping nearby surveillance video will help in the investigation. 782

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - Video shows a frantic rescue effort in Chula Vista after a car went off Interstate 5, leaving two adults and a child trapped upside down. “We got a kid! We got a kid! Oh my god,” said Jay Corona, one of the good Samaritans who rushed to help when they spotted the overturned car near H Street around 10 a.m. Corona and his girlfriend Priscilla Valdovinos were on their way to a salon when they came across the wreck. “I was shocked, I was nervous, I was scared, all that,” said Valdovinos. "Somebody's in there. Somebody's in there."Smoke was rushing from the muffler so furiously Corona thought the car would explode. He saw the family hanging upside down by their seat belts and was able to save a mother and her young child. However, the front door of the sedan was stuck. “It wouldn't open. Because it was really jammed. I just kept pulling and pulling, and then the next thing I know I yanked it open,” Corona said. “I got it open and [the grandma] was in the front seat like, traumatized. She was like, 'Help me please, my back is hurting.'” RELATED: Good Samaritan recovering after getting hit by carValdovinos and Corona said the sedan hydroplaned in wet weather. With the help of other drivers, Corona escorted the grandmother back to the roadway. She was shaken up, but not seriously injured. Corona, who works as a security guard at a North Park bar, says his training kicked in. “I was very proud. He makes me proud every day! I fall in love with him every day, but today I told him, this is one that I'll remember,” said Valdovinos. The couple was struck by how many other people stopped to help. CHULA VISTA, Calif., (KGTV) -- Following in the footsteps of neighboring San Diego, the City of Chula Vista launched a one-year e-scooter pilot program Sunday. Lime representatives held a "first ride" event at Discovery Park, introducing Chula Vista residents to the scooters. The event included safety training and an obstacle course where participants could practice using the scooters to get a free helmet.The city says the pilot program will allow Lime to stage 500 e-scooters at popular locations across Chula Vista for the first month. If all goes well, Lime can add 200 e-scooters every month after that.Some love the convenience. Others say they have seen too many problems in San Diego to support them. "They need to have parking areas for these things and designated legislation for helmets if they're going to have these things out there," said Daryll Coleman, a 12-year resident of Chula Vista. "That's my opinion. Should they be out here? I don't think so." This comes just two months after the City of San Diego notified Lime that it was revoking the scooter company's operating permit. The city claims Lime violated its geo-fencing rules.Residents say they are curious to see how the mayor's office will adjust rules to fit their city. 1259

Chobani is the latest company this year to raise its minimum wage to an hour.In a press release, Chobani's CEO and Founder Hamdi Ulukaya announced on Monday that the change would happen during the first quarter of 2021."This moment of uncertainty is a call for us to join together to strengthen communities and support those working tirelessly to make the food on the tables of families across America," said Ulukaya in the news release. "Businesses should serve the people and communities in which they operate. Raising our base starting salary is the right thing to do, and we hope other businesses, particularly food manufacturers, feel the same as we all work toward rebuilding our country."The hourly rate increase now results in the yogurt brand's average hourly pay at its manufacturing plants in South Edmeston, New York, and Twin Falls, Idaho, at approximately an hour.The current federal minimum wage is .25 an hour, according to the US Department of Labor.The company said about 70 percent of its employees are paid hourly.Other companies that have raised its minimum wage this year are Target and Hobby Lobby. 1139
