SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — SeaWorld guests are getting their first look at a sea otter pup recently rescued in Alaska and taken in by San Diego staff for care.Cinder, an orphaned sea otter brought to SeaWorld earlier this month from Alaska, has nearly doubled in weight and has been hitting all the developmental milestones for her age, the theme park said. Cinder's now weighs a little more than 10 pounds, feeding on a special sea otter milk formula every three hours.Guests can view Cinder periodically throughout the day at the Otter Outlook nursery.The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has deemed Cinder non-releasable, so SeaWorld's Animal Rescue Team and veterinarians have provided constant care. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several University Heights residents are searching for a parrot they say flew out of their home and hasn’t been seen since. According to the owners, the 18-year-old parrot named Lily flew out of their home on Rhode Island Street on January 7. According to a Lily’s owners, the bird can fly but isn’t used to it. The parrot has a blue chest and head and the rest of her body is green. The search is becoming more and more dire, according to Lily’s owners. "It really feels very impossible,” said Mary Beth Cruden. On top of Lily not having food and water, nights have been cold across the county. "Really devastated about it. I loved the bird, the bird loved me,” William Smith told 10News. Lily’s empty cage now sits at the end of the driveway. Bird experts say if she smells something familiar she may come home. The family is hoping someone spots their beloved pet. "I would expect her to come walking up that street on her little two feet, she's practically a human being,” Smith said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Smoke from a fire burning in Mexico is visible throughout San Diego Thursday. The blaze is burning roughly five miles into Mexico amid hot, windy conditions. According to Cal Fire, the fire poses no threat to the U.S. at this time. The agency said, however, it is monitoring the situation and will send a response if the fire threatens San Diego County.
