LOGAN HEIGHTS, Calif. (KGTV) -- The man involved in the officer-involved shooting in Logan Heights previously faced an attempted murder charge, according to court records. Witness video obtained by 10News shows the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Enrique Aguilar, walking in the middle of the street. In the video, it appears Aguilar starts walking toward the direction of police. Yells of “drop the gun” could be heard as Aguilar continues walking down the street.As Aguilar proceeds toward officers, police say he pointed a weapon at them. Several shots were fired and Aguilar fell to the ground. He was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say he was struck at least once and underwent surgery. Records uncovered by Team 10 show Aguilar’s criminal past dates back more than a decade—from vehicle code violations to drug offenses. In 2010, he faced attempted robbery charges. The following year, Aguilar and two others were charged with attempted murder and first-degree robbery. Documents show he was connected to a local gang. Aguilar entered a plea deal and pleaded guilty to robbery, according to documents. He was sentenced to six years in prison.In the court file, we found a letter he wrote in 2012 saying in part:“I am remorseful for my involvement that I took part in and take full responsibility for my own actions. Sometimes circumstances put us in situations that later on we regret. I’m thankful to God that nobody got killed in this matter. My intentions were never, never to hurt anybody… I wish I could take it all back so I could be with my family. I continuously apologize to the victim and my loved ones for the pain I’m putting them thru [sic]; not being able to support my wife as well for my 3 babies.” Aguilar is now in jail facing a slew of charges including three counts of first-degree attempted murder, attempted assault with a firearm, receiving stolen property, participating in a criminal street gang, and a felon in possession of a firearm. LOS ANGELES (CNS) -- With coronavirus cases on the rise, municipalities in the Los Angeles area Thursday began to crack down on residents who flout the statewide requirement that they wear masks while in public.In West Hollywood, sheriff's Capt. Edward Ramirez issued a statement saying deputies have been working to educate violators about the requirement, but people who refuse could now face fines."Beginning this month, we will continue to utilize education and persuasion and hand out face masks, however, we will begin issuing city of West Hollywood Municipal Code citations to people who refuse to follow the face mask order while in public," he said."The citation, which is administrative and not criminal, is 0 plus a fee of for a total of 0 for the first offense," he said. "Our very least option is to conduct enforcement by issuing a citation, but the risk to community health is too great. LONGMONT, Colo. -- Rosemary Bieker is the owner of a boutique store called Ivy Rose.“Ivy Rose has been in business a little over three years, and it’s a boutique full on on-trend clothing for women of all generations,” Bieker said.Bieker was inspired to start her own boutique after helping people look their best as a personal shopper for 15 years.“The store is a culmination of everything I’ve done in my career.”However, owning a small business is a fairly new endeavor for Bieker. So when the pandemic hit, it hit hard.“Business is down 50% from last year, so that in itself is a financial challenge,” Bieker said.Even with gloves, hand sanitizer and social distancing rules to stay safe, the truth is, fewer people are out shopping. Bieker says she had to learn how to do business virtually. The first step was upping her social media game.“I think I worked harder from March 17, when we were closed, until we reopened, than I ever have in the history of my store. Because you’re learning – like I didn’t know how to make a video, let alone a video of myself."After improving her social media, she knew she had to dig a little deeper to keep customers engaged. However, she didn’t want to go the e-commerce route – selling clothes through a website.“My passion is working with people and helping them one-on-one and wardrobing them and getting the feedback from them," Bieker said. She calls it virtual shopping.“I schedule an appointment through Zoom," Bieker said. "And then what I do is I tour the store with the person just like if you were walking through the store yourself. So I go from rack to rack to rack. And that sounds overwhelming, but really it isn’t, especially if you’re interacting with the person.”Then Bieker rings up the purchase and can get it to the customer through shipping, curbside pickup or delivery if it’s local. Califf says the challenging growth small businesses have faced this year will help them in the future when competing with large companies that sell their products online.“It’s here to stay probably because when you think about diversifying your products and your sales channels, this is a good way to do it," Califf said. "And it’s an unfortunate time for people to be forced into that, but some of it will be lasting.”Bieker says her system has attracted new customers from out of state and she’s confident virtual shopping will continue even after the pandemic.“It’s fun.
