HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — An infant boy died on Friday after being left in a hot car in Hernando County, Fla., officials say.Deputies and Fire Rescue responded to the scene Friday morning in the 12000 block of Elgin Boulevard in Spring Hill just after 11 a.m. after received a call about an infant who had just been removed from a hot car.Hernando County Sheriff's Office officials say that 9-month-old Keyton O’Callaghan was rushed to a nearby Oak Hill Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at 12:06 p.m. Investigators say that Keyton had been in the care of his mother, Cami Lee Moyer, 38, since Thursday night. HCSO says that the infant's father, Eric O'Callahan, 32, came home and found Keyton in the vehicle parked on the driveway in front of the home. Deputies say O'Callahan took the infant inside where he began performing CPR on the child while he was on the phone with 911. He continued to perform CPR until fire rescue arrived and took over.At this time, officials do not know how long Keyton was left in the car. Detectives are still working to establish a chronological timeline of events.“If you think you might forget, put a shoe back there. Take it off your foot and put it back there. Put your phone back there," Denise Moloney with HCSO said in a press conference. "It’s sad to say, but you’re gonna remember your phone, how are you not gonna remember your child?”Investigators are currently interviewing Moyer and say it is possible that she will face charges. The official temperature in nearby Brooksville was recorded at 86 with a feels-like temperature of 97 in the 11 a.m. hour. on Friday. 1710

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Summer time for middle school students usually means taking a break from lessons and learning, but not for one 11-year-old girl in Virginia.London Hart is actually diving deeper into our country's history and studying recent events, including protests against racial injustice."Back when the protests started after the George Floyd incident, I was having a conversation my with parents about what was really going on and what was happening. They were telling me all about racism," said London. It's a conversation London said was very upsetting."Just because you're a minority, doesn't mean you should be treated unfairly. It made me unhappy that that was happening," said London. So the budding artist picked up her canvas and paintbrush and expressed her support for the Black Lives Matter movement the best way she knows how -- by painting. Then she turned those paintings into t-shirt designs."A bunch of people were really happy that I started this movement with the t-shirts and everybody was buying them and buying them and buying them," said London.London's "Support Shirts" campaign was shared so much online that it blew up."At first, I only expected to sell like 15 shirts at the most. So far, I have 875, raising ,600," said London.London is donating all the money to organizations fighting for racial equality, teaching others you're never too young to get involved with a cause you care about. She even offered some advice to other young people."As long as you know what you're doing and you feel like you know what you're saying and you have something you can support, then I feel like you can stand out and use your voice," said London.London's goal is to raise ,000 this summer. If you would like to buy one of her shirts, click here. This story originally reported by Tyler Layne on wtvr.com. 1840

Have you ever looked at a person in an ad and wondered, what do they look like in real life? Now, with at least one company's ads, you won't have to wonder.CVS has unveiled a beauty campaign using un-retouched images, aimed at creating a more realistic standard of beauty. But do they really look that different? It's called the Beauty in Real Life campaign. CVS says the goal of this campaign is to create a new and more realistic standard of beauty. The way you can tell if an ad is a part of the campaign is it has a CVS Beauty Mark, a white stamp watermark that reads beauty unaltered. If you see the stamp on an ad it means that the images in the ad haven't been "materially altered." That means the brand did not "digitally alter or change a person's shape, size, proportion, skin or eye color or enhance or alter lines, wrinkles or other individual characteristics."So essentially if you saw the person in the ad walking down the street, they would look like they do in the ad. That's the goal, because in general, the editing of photos in ads really has has an impact on how women and girls feel about themselves.A survey found two out of three women strongly agree that the media has set an unrealistic standard of beauty. 80% of women feel worse about themselves after seeing a beauty ad. 90% of girls ages 15 to 17 want to change at least one aspect of their physical appearance. We asked a few people what they think about this new initiative."I think that's awesome," one woman said.  "I think we've been given unrealistic beauty standards for a really long time. So it's really nice to see companies putting in women who actually look like me. I don't have to have these unrealistic standards of what I should look like. I think it's a really awesome thing."Other women felt differently."Non touching is a good start," one woman said. "But if I saw that I would be like, real life? I don't know if I'd look like that in real life."Her friend agreed."When I wake up I do not look like that in real life," the woman said. "So I think like the touch up is a good start, but for that like slogan for the campaign I feel it's sending the wrong message in a way."This campaign is rolling out now digitally and the goal is for all the images in the beauty sections of CVS stores to reflect transparency by the end of 2020. 2339

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The pandemic has been an isolating and difficult time for people who struggle with substance abuse and addiction, said Kristin Geitzen. She’s the CEO of Arbor Circle, an organization that provides a variety of mental health, substance abuse, and family supported services, and she and her team are worried for their patients.“You’re sitting around your house and people are drinking, drinking more than they had before or trying to self-medicate, or a variety of issues and concerns,” Gietzen said during a Zoom interview last week. “Substance abuse is a big deal and we’ve had overdoses during this time.”Geitzen said people have entered treatment for the first time after recognizing that they had a problem during the pandemic. Sobriety has been hard to maintain for some. Now, with more restrictions set to take place as cases spike across the country, the team at Arbor Circle fear that it could get worse for their patients and they're concerned about the impact it may have others, especially children.“We’re seeing in the child welfare system, we’re seeing a decline in reports of child abuse and neglect, and a decline in removals into foster care, which on the one hand is a good thing because we want children to stay in their families but we also know that abuse and neglect is often reported through school,” Gietzen said. “Where people are stressed, sometimes bad things can happen.”Accountability is key, she said. Typically, at Arbor Circle, they’d meet with their patients in person and check in on how things are going. However, with the pandemic going on it’s been hard to do.“People are also afraid to come into social settings or into treatment settings for good reasons. Many folks that have substance abuse disorders also have compromised health. They’re living with some of the risk factors that make COVID that much more risky,” Gietzen said. “So, it’s really a dance to try to figure out how to navigate this time for everyone.”However, the team and therapists at Arbor Circle are determined to help their patients endure, she said. They, like Alcoholics Anonymous and other mental health services, have shifted their work and appointments online. They encourage people who struggle with substance abuse to pay attention to their bodies and to respond to it positively by creating new habits.“With winter coming, you know we can all get very physically complacent,” Geitzen said. “We can do a lot to help our mood and help our circulation and all of the things that positively impact the way that we think by doing some physical activity. It’s critical.”Gietzen said she understands how hard it can be to stay motivated. She practices yoga and said it’s been difficult doing it on her own. However, she encourages others to find ways to stay motivated. She said the pandemic is like a marathon that's going to require endurance for everyone to get through.“We’re all in this situation together, as a community, as a nation, the whole world,” Gietzen said. “We are learning and experiencing something totally new. And, some of the tools and the tricks and treatment methods that we used in the past are not as effective right now. So, we have to all sharpen our tools.”This story originally reported by Lauren Edwards on FOX17online.com 3292
