BEIJING, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- China has set aside 49.7 billion yuan (about 7.5 billion U.S. dollars) for supporting environmental protection this year, an official said Thursday.

"The initiative will become a guide for us to push forward cutting-edge technological cooperation, optimize innovation environment and gather innovative resources," said Lin Nianxiu, deputy head of China's National Development and Reform Commission.
Acknowledging the performance of and progress made by leading Party members' groups of the Standing Committee of the NPC, the State Council, the National Committee of the CPPCC, the SPC and SPP, the committee urged them to keep in line with the CPC Central Committee with Xi at the core.
The proposal is a further development of China-Myanmar cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, Wang said, adding that the plan should take into consideration Myanmar's most urgent needs and start from projects that Myanmar needs most and gradually achieve mutual benefit.
