BOSTON (AP) — A California real estate developer was sentenced Friday to one month in prison for paying ,000 to cheat on his daughter's college entrance exam.Robert Flaxman, 63, of Los Angeles, was sentenced in Boston's federal court after pleading guilty in May to a single count of fraud and conspiracy. He is the 10th parent to be sentenced in a widespread college bribery scheme.Authorities say Flaxman paid ,000 to have a test proctor feed his daughter answers on her ACT exam in 2016. Those allegations were not pursued, however, and they weren't included in Flaxman's plea agreement with prosecutors.Flaxman's lawyers say he agreed to the testing scheme because his daughter's test scores were too low to get into college. BOSTONIA (CNS) - A shooting at a marijuana dispensary near El Cajon left one person wounded Friday.The gunfire in the 1600 block of North Second Street in the unincorporated Bostonia community was reported shortly after 12 p.m., according to sheriff's officials.Following the shooting, the victim, believed to be about 16 years old, was driven out of the area and dropped off at a gas station about a mile to the south, Lt. Pat McEvoy said.Paramedics took the wounded youth, whose exact age and gender were not immediately available, to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment of wounds of undisclosed severity.Deputies took several people into custody at the dispensary for questioning and searched the area for the shooter by ground and aboard a patrol helicopter, McEvoy said. BALTIMORE (KGTV) - A former television producer for “The Jerry Springer Show” was arrested in Maryland Thursday for the death of her sister in Los Angeles.Baltimore Police took Jill Blackstone into custody on suspicion of murder and animal cruelty at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Police did not reveal if Blackstone was a patient.According to Los Angeles Police, Blackstone put her sister Wendy, 49, and two dogs in a garage in Los Angeles and set the building on fire in March 2015. LAPD investigators said Blackstone wanted to make Wendy’s death look like an accident.Blackstone was motivated by the emotional and financial hardship of taking care of her sister, who was deaf and partially blind, investigators said.Baltimore Police said Blackstone will be sent back to Los Angeles to face charges.Blackstone worked as a producer on programs including “Family Court with Judge Penny”, the Daily News reported.The Associated Press contributed to this report. 962

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Newly-released body camera footage shows a New York Supreme Court justice admitting to shoving a police officer, repeatedly stating that he has family ties to the Buffalo police force and even invoking a friendship with Mayor Byron W. Brown as he sought lenient treatment for himself and his wife during an incident in June.The footage was released after Scripps station WKBW in Buffalo reported in June that State Supreme Court Justice Mark J. Grisanti was under police investigation over a street brawl between the justice, his wife and their North Buffalo neighbors. Grisanti and his wife were both handcuffed and placed in the back of police cars, but officials announced in July that they would not be facing charges.In the body camera footage, Grisanti repeatedly states that his daughter and son-in-law are police officers, as does his wife, Maria Grisanti.“Ma'am, if you don't stop yelling, this is gonna be a problem for you,” a Buffalo police officer told Grisanti's wife, Maria, as she was yelling at her neighbors across the street.“I don’t care,” Maria Grisanti yelled back.The officer then crossed the street and attempted to put Maria Grisanti in handcuffs. That's when her husband began shouting at the officer. Zaccagnino, who is representing Grisanti. “Certainly he wishes the incident never occurred.”Zaccagnino said Grisanti was trying to defend his wife, and he feels his actions are being taken out of context.“And he got angry, and he raised his voice, he put his hand up, and he did make contact with the officer,” Zaccagnino said. “He feels bad about it, OK? He feels bad about the whole incident.”This is not the first time an altercation involving Grisanti and his wife has spilled out into public view.Grisanti was injured in a 2012 scuffle at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls in which he said he and his wife were attacked and beaten during a confrontation with members of the Seneca Nation of Indians. He was a state senator at the time.Grisanti, a Republican, lost his senate seat in 2014 but was appointed to a Court of Claims judgeship by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2015.
