Trade between the two countries surpassed 270 billion dollars in 2013, an increase of 7 percent year on year, equaling South Korea's trade volume with the United States and Japan combined.
Statistics have shown China's sincerity in expanding trade with countries in central and west Asia. In 2013, China's imports from Arab countries amounted to 140 billion U.S. dollars. Its trading volume with the five central Asian countries has been over 100 times as much as the figures in 1992, when they established their diplomatic relations.
"Though Finland and China are far away (from each other) and their national conditions are quite different, we have treated each other on an equal footing and have carried out friendly cooperation," he said, adding that the Finnish side is also satisfied with the healthy development of bilateral relations.
The vice premier told the meeting that the two sides should focus on cooperative projects in the areas of energy, high-speed rail, telecommunications, mining, housing and infrastructure development. Meanwhile, he said, the two sides should expand financial cooperation so as to benefit the people of the two countries.
China is ready to work closely with Malaysia to cement strategic trust, expand win-win cooperation and cultural exchanges as well as regional cooperation, to jointly benefit the two peoples and build a brighter future for Asia, Li said.
